"I am starvin'." I tell Sam, opening one of the cabinets, looking for… something. I don't find anything, so I close the cabinet and move toward the fridge. We had just gotten home from the doctor, and I felt like I hadn't eaten in a week.

"Yer always hungry." He teases me, a soft grin pulling the corners of his mouth up.

"It's not my fault. I mean, I'm eating for three here." I remind him, bending down to look in the refrigerator.

"Ah know." He laughs, walking up behind me and kissing my ear. I lean back against him, listening to his heartbeat. His hands are resting on my four-month pregnant stomach, rubbing in slow soft circles.

"When do you think Ah'll be able to feel the babies move?" He asks, shifting me around a bit.

"I don't know. I haven't even felt them move yet." I tell him, a hint of worry creeping into my voice. Sam is quick to reassure me.

"Hey, you heard Heather. Everything's goin' fine with yoah pregnancy, and you should be able to feel the babies move in a couple of days."

"I know. I guess I'm just looking for something to worry about." I sigh softly.

"Ah know, and you really need to quiet. Let me worry about you. That's what Ah'm here for." Sam says in my ear, a hint of laughter in his voice.

"Oh, really?" I ask, turning to face him.

"Really." He nods smiling broadly. He bends down and kisses me softly on the nose, and then kisses my mouth.

"I love you." I whisper to him.

"That's good." Sam says, smiling. "Cause Ah pretty darn crazy 'bout you."

I laugh for second then reach up to kiss him again. He kisses me back for a second then pulls away.

"What?" I ask, looking at him in confusion.

"Ah just thought of something. What are gonna tell the rest of X-Force?" Sam asks, looking down at me.

"Oh…lord, I have no clue!" I cry, biting my lip. "I mean, what do we do, just walk up to them and say, hey guess what guys, I'm havin' twins!"

"Well," Sam began, "that is how we told them that you were pregnant."

"That's true." I reply, shifting nervously.

Sam reaches out to put a hand on my shoulder and I cover it with my own. Suddenly, something else occurs to me.

"Sam, have you told your family yet?" I ask. He blanches and looks away.

"Not exactly." He says, fidgeting.

"What do you mean, 'not exactly'?" I demand, looking at him confusion.

"Ah told them that Ah loved you and wanted to spend the rest of mah life with you." Sam says, looking at me with big blue eyes.

"But you didn't tell them that I was pregnant?" I prompt.

"Nooo…Ah was gonna do that later." Sam mumbles.

"When? When were you planing on telling them?" I yelp, annoyed and a little hurt.

"Ah don't know Tabitha. This sort of thing doesn't happen in mah family a lot." Sam explains to me.

"Well, it's happening to you now." I snap at him. I can already feel the tears welling up in my eyes.

"Tabby, please. Ah just don't know how they'll react to you…being pregnant, and all." Sam tells me, reaching out a hand. I slap I away, and he looks at me, hurt. But right now, I'm beyond caring.

"What do you mean 'how they'll react to me'?" I yell, stepping away from him. Sam sighs and runs his fingers through his hair.

"Ah don't know what Ah mean." Sam says softly, avoiding my eyes.

"Your ashamed of me." I accuse in a deadly quite voice.

"No!" Sam cries, looking up at me. But I'm beyond caring what he says at this point in time.

"Your ashamed of me, that's why you won't tell your family about me. Your ashamed of the fact that you knocked some piece of trash from the streets up, and don't want your family to know." I scream at him, putting my hand on my stomach.

"That is not--" Sam starts, but I cut him off.

"It is so true! Admit it!" I sob.

"Tabitha…" Sam says, reaching out to me again. I turn and run as fast as I can from him, tears rolling down my face.

"TABITHA!" He yells as I run toward our room. "TABITHA, COME BACK!"

I make it to our room, and throw myself down on the bed. Why, why, why is all I can think as I hug my stomach. Why are you so ashamed of me Sam?

I curl into a ball and cry.
