Minbari Facts

The Minbari are the oldest of the younger races, and also the most advanced race. The only visible difference between a Minbari and a human is the Headbone, which wraps around the skull to protect it against injuries. The Headbone is unique to every Minbari and differs in color, size and structure, also the female Minbari headbone ends in one single point, the male Minbari headbone is more like a crown which ends in a few peaks on the side and in one single point at the back. The headbone styling differs from caste to caste. Althought the Minbari are strong and have a remarkable constitution the consumption of alcohol makes a Minbari very aggressive and paranoid.
The Minbari society is based on the caste society, which is in some kind similar to the old caste society of India. There are three castes, Warrior, Religious, Worker, three colors, black, grey and white. Only a few of the castes are known.

Warrior Clans
Star Riders - The oldest known clan. The name refers to mounted soldiers who trained to use the stars for navigation.

Moon Shields - A clan that traditionally rode to battle mounted.

Wind Swords - They are the most militant of the Warrior Clans.

Night Walkers - The name refers to foot soldiers who were expert at night combat.

Fire Wings - The name refers to a clan who became the first to use flying machines in battle.

The House Of Mir - One of the many clans which were founded after Valen's dissapperearing (Delenn's Clan)

The Third Fane of Chudomo - This Clan has served with honor for 500 years (Lennier's Clan)

Minbari History
The Minbari history was a very bloody one until the clans were united by Valen 1000 years ago, the clans were fighting each other without mercy. Under the reign of Valen, who was in reality a human, a Minbari not born of Minbar, the Minbari were the first time in their history united, with one enemy to fight, the Shadows. It was Valens reign, which formed the Minbari society, this society survived until now.

But the Minbari history became bloody again as the Earth - Minbari war started. 3 days away from the Sol system, a deep space EarthForce patrol consisting of the EAS Hyperion, the EAS Prometheus and an Explorer class vessel, the Amundsen encountered an Minbar convoy. The Minbari ships opened their gunports as a sign of respect, which was missunderstood by the Earthforce ships, which opened fire and crippeled the flagship and the escorting cruisers. In this attack, the chosen one of the Minbari, Dukhat was killed, the Grey council was unsure what to do, they had two options, revenge, and the investigation of the accident. They chose the first option, War.
The Earth Minbari war started. The Minbari Fleet, technically more advanced than the EarthForce teared through the defense lines like a hot knife through butter, they marched straight up to earth, this march took three years, in which they destroyed 7 colonies, 2 moons and the whole EA fleet so far, the march ended in what would later be called the the Battle Of The Line
20.000 Earth Force ships surrounded earth in an suicidial attempt to stop the Minbari onslaught. Nearly all Earth Force ships were destroyed in this battle, only 200 of the Earth ships survived the battle. Minutes away from assaulting Earth itself, the Grey Council decided to capture a human pilot for interrogation, in this moment, Commander Jeffrey Sinclair lined his damaged ship up for a kamikaze run on a Minbari Cruiser, his ship was choosen by Satai Delenn, the Starfury was dissabeld and brought on board of the Cruiser. Commander Sinclair was tortured and interrogated, and what the Minbari discovered frightened them to their very bone, they had discovered that Sinclair had a Minbari soul, this conclusion was confirmed as they captured more pilots.
On the brink of victory, the Minbari surrendered, not giving any explanation ot the Warrior caste.

Technology
The technology of the Minbari is very advanced, and their technology is the most advanced of the younger races. The Minbari Technology is based on Crystal power sources, crystal powered weapons, gravity manipulating rings, and many more.

Minbari Fleet
The Minbari Fleet is most powerfull fleet of the newer races, and their superior stealth system gives them a great advantage against other races. Their Sharlin battlecruiser is a very powerfull ship, and also the backbone of the Minbari battlefleet, the other spacecraft of the Minbari is their Nial fighter, which is also equiped with the stealth system. The stealth system has given the Minbari a special name under Earth pilots, which had survived the war "Ghosts Of The Night". The newest of the Minbari ships os the White Star class vessel, which is based partially on Vorlon technology.
