Chas

Height: 6 feet
Weight: 180

Eyes: Aegean sea blue-green. Like his mother, his eyes change color according to his moods. Almond shaped slant to them.
Hair: Black as the raven's wing. Worn in a ponytail. Thick just slightly curly.
Physical description: Medium build. Well muscled due to the fact that part of his craft as a blacksmith has kept him in excellent condition. Powerfully built yet not so bulky as most. Trim, not on once of fat on him. Looks like a dragon come to life with is graceful gait and serpentine movements. Takes after his Welsh ancestors in body, but looks oddly like his father in the face, especially in the nose. Has olive colored skin.
Markings: On his arms, has a set blue tattoos of Celtic spirals and horned serpents with wings. His ears are pierced.
Race: Half Egyptian, half Tautha de Danon.
Family: Mother, Elsbeth Ashake Coulter. Father, Rath. Twin sister, Siptah. Younger brother and sister, Tharankhenat and Hemrata. (Both these siblings are from another time line to be told in an upcoming fan fiction.)
Animal totem: Blue celestial dragon. This was the first totem of his mother, whose armor was destroyed. Earlier in life, he claimed this animal as his own since he had a special affinity for the creature.
Amulet: Wears a dragon headed torc around his neck.
Element: Earth and fire
Personality: Chas is very shy, introverted, and very circumpective about life. Very laid back and easy going, like his mother is guileless to a fault. It takes much to make him mad. Like the elements he used at his forge, his is stable but can transform into a raging inferno if need be.
He is constantly listening to others problems. Gives advice when asked. Good sounding board. But does a joke ready and a grin to bring a smile to one's face. Despite the fact that Chas is a very attractive male, he does not really date all that much. Though the ladies do come to him more often then not, Chas is old fashioned at heart. He chooses his love mates wisely.
Being an Empath like Ashake, he is bothered by this gift. He is not as strong as Tharankhanat or Hemrata in Empathy, but it is enough to make this reclusive male a little nervous around women. Who tend to flock to him seeking merely pleasure. Chas is too much of a romantic to casually lay with all the ladies he's met. But this does not mean he is celibate. Chas has known the company of many women over the centuries, but has always been quite selective of his lovers.
In his youth, he was not so selective. He would tumble for the pleasure of it, no strings attached. Many ladies have tried to land him, but to no avail. As time wore on, he sought something deeper, he never found what he was looking for and couldn't understand why. Seeing something of her own intimate experiences in her son, Ashake told him that "True love cannot be forced. It is a meeting of two, not one who seeks oblivion in self indulgence. Flesh meets flesh is wonderful, but it is better when heart meets heart." Chas never forgot those words. After meeting Marianne on a recent archeological dig, he know knew what his mother met. Their relationship is fairly new. Chas is content to let Marianne make up her own mind on her feelings concerning him and his father, Rath.
History: Chas's past still a mystery. He was born into existence through the will of the goddess Maat. In an alternate universe, Ashake was married Rath, but their relationship was kept secret. Their entire relationship until the very end was a heart wrenching storm of emotions due to the fact that Rath's duty and Ashake's hatred of her captivity in Pharaoh Amemhotep's court almost torn them apart.
In the end, they did reconcile. And spent a few years in peace with their tangled past healed. (This past is to be explored in my fan fiction Red Sands.) When Prince Rapses was taken by Scarab, it was Ashake who came to the Royal Guardians aid. Sadly, she arrived to late to turn the tide of battle. One by one her comrades were slain by Shabties until there was just she and Scarab. Her magical powers depleted, the Celt met with Scarab in a mental dual of wills, pitting her last reserve of strength into this extreme ploy. It nearly worked. But Scarab learned of a hidden truth unknown to even Ashake. Without realizing it, she had charged into battle pregnant with Rath's children. Using his black arts, Scarab reached in the yanked the unborn from her womb. Too locked up in her assault with the traitorous vizier, Ashake could not prevent it. Clutching her belly, she sank down into the sands as he made his escape. Ashake barely had enough strength to crawl to Rath's body, as they said their last goodbys.
The goddess Maat has forever been a neutral deity. Never taking sides, nor favorites as the wheel of justice turned in men's lives. But Maat heard her daughter's selfless cries as her children were plucked from her, and did something the goddess has never done before. She intervened on someone's behalf. Maat saved two of Ashake's triplets before Scarab devoured the youngest's soul. Maat raised these children herself. Only recently has the goddess revealed to Ashake that her children were still alive. At first angered, Ashake then knew that the goddess must have had her reasons for keeping them hidden. Reasons that will be revealed in time. So now mother and children must forge a hew bond of family in the modern world.
Life in the Modern World: Chas is currently a research reporter and photo journalist for Celt Today Magazine. He travels the world looking into old civilizations to record histories for future generations. His twin sister, Siptah, is the editor. Chas does the foot work, while she has the connections. They make a good team.
While on an Egyptian dig, Chas was introduced to Marianne who he fell for at first glance. She reciprocates the affection, but is still unsure of her full feelings. Yet she is quite taken with him as he is with her. And he would do anything to help her adjust to her new surroundings. They share a sort of rapport, often exchanging dreams. Having found the tomb of Hemrata his missing dimensional sister, Chas has found reason to look up his family ties. He is reunited with his mother, father, and lost brother, Tharankhenat in future fan fictions. What will happen is anyone's guess.
Hobbies: Chas is a Celtic blacksmith. He is a skilled jewelry maker and sword smith. He does not have much time for this past time, but when he does he can usually be found in the Sphinx's forge located in the bottom of the building. He far out stripes her own mother in forging magic weapons and magic items. And one of the recent recipients of his newest masterpieces happens to be his new love interest, Marianne Ellis.
Chas likes to learn to new cultures and new things. He has a passion for the arts. He also followed in his mother's footsteps and is somewhat of a bard himself.
He plays the fiddle and harp. He is a master of Celtic, Egyptian, and Chinese lore.
Magic: Chas is a dragon singer. While all his sibling have the snake as their totem animal, he has a blue dragon. Since they are close in nature, the dragon does compliment the cobra in him. He is the most Celtic of his sibs. His magic deals mostly with earth and fire, but he can work with water and air as well.
Chas can summon dragons at will from small fire lizards to the big winged reptiles that legends are made from.
He is called a dragon singer but that is exactly what he does he sings to dragons in a brad like fashion to get to appear, communicate, or cast spells. His magic is very musically in nature.
He is an Empath, though not as strong as Hemrata or Thar. He can cast some healing spells like his mother and sister. But he may only cure light wounds, anything to critical Ashake or Hemrata must handled. However he can sing pain away, and lower fevers, and block pain from a victim if it is too much. This power leaves him very exhausted afterwards. He is also telepathic.
Miscellaneous: Chas and his sister, Siptah, have recently moved from New York to San Francisco to be with their new family. They share an apartment together in the Embarcadero district. Settling into a new place and a new life filled with a family to get to know will provide challenges for these. What their futures are is anyone's guess.
