Music is the truth of the heart. Laughter is the key to unlock the fettered soul. Love is the light shining the way in darkness. Happiness is measured by how many steps taken when you make up your mind. quote of Ashake, Pharoah's Eye.
MUMMIES ALIVE CHARACTER POEMS by Java Goddess (Beth Strong)
In being baptisted on the net, I have read every peice of Mummies Alive fan fiction written on line. I was impressed by the amount of stories by all! These are the poems I wrote in 1999 about many of the on line Mummies Alive characters created by a fans of the series. Some of the poems are about personalities of the chars, others are about scenes in their stories, or just whatever came off the top of my head at the time that first impressed me about a certain distinct trait the char possessed. All the Mummies Alive chars used are the property of whomever created them. Note some poetry may can mature content.
So read on and enjoy the lyrics of myths in the making!
by Java Goddess E. Strong
When I see thee standing in the hypostal hall, my heart aches slightly
and the heavens desend in a breeze
Her fragrance is lotus water cooled on my fevered skin
Intoxicating aroma encompassing all who hear her tales
and a voice that only could be forged of Ptah's tongue
Queen Hetshepsut smiles as my love sings.
My magic spins her stories to life as dreams walk in the golden halls
But when her performance is over, as the applause ends, I find myself alone
I long to cry -- Take me into your embrace!
So that I may see the dawn break over your skin, peaceful, free
Please, maiden of the stars, complete the days of my life
But I can not say anything to thee who dark eyes veil in science and tinker with crystals
Who only sees me as savior and friend
Hathor, I silently cry, Golden One,
Make my sister see me and not the Wizard of the Pharoah's court
The poetry left behind by my sire and dam only kindle my wildest imaginings
as to the slendors she so skillfully hides
My maiden of stars walks by me now
Full breasts jutting out beneath her royal beaded collar
Nipples hard arching to be tasted
I must control my disarrayed thoughts as my mind argues with my heart
Breeze in the sycamore tree, blow her to me as I stroll in the gardens
Turn to me, beautious raven haired maid
Direct your face towards he whose longing heart would worship
body's satifaction in the whiperings of Isis' wings
Eating bread from thine hand, offered cool beer for my parched throat
Nothing can asauge this terrible need that consumes my loins except thine lips on mine
How sweet life is when I am by your side
My hand touches yours
My Star Maiden, she enraptures my heart
When I see her, I am refreshed as an ibis taken wing
How sweetly she sings, playing the oak harp made by my mother's hand
All eyes and ears open to her stories of old
Face of gold and silver and white flesh
My tongue in your valleys to know thier secrets
If I attempted to carress those lovely breasts would the milk be as sweet as Hathor's?
My soul unfolds like a lotus in the face of Ra around thee
but as I watch my most special lady pass me
I turn to speak what is in my heart but my tongue turns to clay
I can only watch thee pass
My lovely sister sees my distress, my sibling holds me as my tears fall unending into her lined shoulder
My star maiden, my only love.
How do I reach thee?
Ptah, oh gracious One. Thoth, keeper of Secrets. Hathor, golden goddess
fly words murmuring sweetness of the many voices in my ka so that she may know my
phoenix renews endlessly for her alone!
In the hallowed chambers of my library I can find all the answers I seek
In science, magic, there is none beyond my reach
but sadly I wander in the scrolls and dusty papyrus
A litany of knowledge at my fingertips and I ask
"Is there nothing more?"
My soul answers in silence. I know the hard answer.
I beat my hands on my breast trying to feel but nothing is there
Then my star maiden enters and smiles, uncommon in her grace
My heart is filled whenever my Queen of Two Lands is near
Snared I am in her quaint eyes
trapped for eturnity in your dark hair
Alured by the lotus promise that falls from your lips
How lovely the star are in my lady' eyes
Together on a shared blanket, we count the stars in Nut's cloak
Lovely bird annointed with myrrh
You are finally here
My soul balances with yours
from you beauty I may never be apart
My star maiden points to where her home lies
I glance up and summond the courage at last
I abandon all restrain
The scent of thine nose is bliss.
Nose kissing coupled with the smell of thine white gold face
expresses my affection more elequently then my tongue ever could
My mother's words were correct,
"The scent of night brings all consuming delight!"
Forever more soaring our hearts are wounded no longer
Love is the harvest in my garden as Ra shines in us now
I taste heaven's promise
for I have found the answer in My Star Maiden's eyes!
Riddles -- Trynia Amerin
I came from a place far away where points of light bend time and space
To serve my makers was my only goal
To learn what planets had in store
Seeking answers to riddles unsolved
ancient civilizations to know and learn
I record all I see. Such wonders I have never seen!
A people as hard as the land is dry,
yet they laught with joy and tears they cry
Serve as passage into worship
Holy elevation of flesh and bone only to be wrappen in linen
raised on high towards Osiris' alar, exalted
They bring light to what is hidden
My crystals burn and blacken, smoke fills the room
I curse in my own langauge
my experiment gone awry
The He enters the chamber, summoning rain
He ruins my work!
Why is he here? What is this strange longing in my curcuitry as my heart beats faster?
My breath catches in my mouth in presence
It is nothing but a malfunction my computer mind says
Let it alone and he will go away
Beryl eyes look inot my dark brown optics, so wonderfully spell bound, so small am I near him
His nearness is compelling, comforting
What is this drumming in my breast?
Why this ache in that part of me I deny any logic to command?
I must remember my program and why I am here
but those beryl eyes peirce me with understanding and compassion
Eyes bright with their seeing
no words come into mind as we drink spiced wine
He speaks of many things relating to the court, his work, trying to remain calm
How his fingers caress my soft places, slip down its sides
Warm scales slither between my theighs
A gift, his love
Come closer. Hold me. Keep me safe. I beg you.
Why this strange beating?
My mind has no answer
Burning, raging, sweat
delightful motion, flood gates open
We soar and dive in blissful nothingness that rides like a wave in our bodies
My serpant lover lays spent beside me
Teal eyes soft as silk
How can such eyes hold me so?
What is this beating in me?
Is this what humans call the awakening of a soul?
What is is tearing at my heart?
I long to cry but he is here
He sings inside me now, mine for eturnity
From the day you first whispered my name
I embrace what I can not understand
for some strange reason my tears are joy!
What a heavenly turn of affairs
I have found my paradise, rarest most private dreams
Dear heart, I am yours
Pure spirit translated beyond Time
Two halves of single love complete
Drunk of love, substantial and sweet.
Fall Into Grace, Hawk and Kestral -- the wedding song of Corryn and Sam Hawk
For all my life I heard my own voice
a life time searching to find a way out
trying to find what life's all about
So many dreams if only I'd dare
could I really touch you? Would you even care?
Alone in my private insolation
adrift in a world full of familiar strangers
I'm a tattered little angel that screams to be heard
turning my back on every word
I hear you call
but I'm a wingless angel
who has taken a fall
Recall a time before your touch
I believe that for all the people you touch you leave something behind
It will reconcile, inspire, guide you back to me
What is the meaning of dreams?
If you're given wings and yet you can't fly?
In order to dare you have to try!
I'm a tattered broken angel
but a light still shines in me
All my life, I believe, what a gift you are to me
A white lotus pressed between rolled papyrus leaves
Sweet discovery from ages past
a passion longing for release
deep scented mornings spent adoring you
with you I find escape
Cause with your love
you gave me back my wings
now my heart sings
fianlly I found my place
Cause this tattered angel
has fallen back into grace!
Laughter -- Hemrata, Tharakenat's older sister
Sister of the sands
Legs kick, gazell-like swiftness
She rolls on the dunes sharp yet delicate
My older sibling turns the heads of every young buck
longing to rest their heads in her lap on feast days
Was it only yesterday she held me kissing away my hot tears?
Angry at the other children's taunts
champion to my lost cause landing a punchon a bully's eye who dared torment me
My honorable sister, whose smile is Hathor's delight
Our mother's beauty shines in her
from her wit she grew wise
Father's love of lore and curiosity
but both parents gave her a crafter's hand and Thoth's magic
Beneath the opal moon beats a Celtic heart
Sunrise warrior fighting the shallows of Night
Lovliest flower of the Queen's court is my sibling
Mistress of sword and spell
Snake lover, whose knowledge turns poison to healing might
Daughter of Light, I cherish your kindness
thought our mother is long in Summerland, in Osiris' embrace
If she was anything like you then indeed I have known her
For I see her love in your grin!
Shadowblade -- Scarab and Rathera
In darkness she comes, in darkness she returns
Destructive wake, where no one goes
like a dream of the blind who wishes sight
Shadow blades bend carring death and blight
Unhindered, unfettered, she returns to me
our alliance forged of pride
Defiant refusal to be any man's unwitting tool
Garbed in night and deadly spells, she who moves Geb's earth
Flash of dagger, footfall soft, another enemy fills a tomb
Midnight hair, wisp of a sardonic grin,
No . . . my dark lady is no concubine to coyly laugh behind ostrich plumes
with kohled eyes fluttering demurely
Shadow lady, only deep in my lost dreams do you dwell
As I teach you lost forgotten spells, my wisdom tells I should turn away
Nothing . . no I can not hold you
Wrought of mist, twilights spent lost in ancient texts as I dream of conquest and power
Shadow lover, these goals we share
keep it simple before we despair
All is . . so . . . unclear
Love . . . .
I have never seen Her face
only fear, pain, suffering, ultimate power I crave
but those onyx eyes glittering like dark agates as she smiles
the purfume of her lusterous hair
leaves my form weak
Smooth limbs, bronze and lovely fill me with a hunger I have never known
Shadow Blade, no one else understands how I long for you
I court you in my dreams, but in life I can no more
I have reached the point
pass weariness and suffering
Bring me the peace the only shadows claim
Im your arms, we find our satisfaction
My dark lady, I will not forget
Gentle is your hand in mine
Who ever thought Love could go where Darkness sleeps?
would that I can not shrink from your embrace . . .
But something darker call to me
More richer, soul consuming borne of passion's hate
I see your slumbering form
Sweet in its dark ecstasy
I touch your cheek, soft as a lotus
You stir slightly. I sigh.
Donning my courtly robes, I become the Pharoah's Visier
Oh my sweet shadow, this game of love we can not win
for in my private heart there is one place that will never let you in.
Crossroads -- Rathera
Lost am I in summer rain
all peace is gone, reality insane
Blessed by thunder, I shout aloud
my shadows, my secrets, alone I am proud
Last hours of ancient sunlight
Tangled memories, almost search and destroy nobody's child
How can our love hope to survive all the schemes, deciet, and lies?
A home in the heart of a strange new city
the hedge of mist in my eyes
I hear my brother's concern
on day's of air, I blood walk the wild road as Maat's scales pitch back and towards
My friends are chaos and night
Freedom's challenge to my adversary
Forever a hero or gaurdian fair?
or is my place at the waterfall of shadows?
Faces of infinity I never see
At the crossroads between Love and Hate
At the crossroads where Light meets Night
which way do I turn?
to the left or to the righ?
Point of Hopes, I am beyond but why is it I feel the call of glass dragons and schools of Light?
This is my reckoning --
To play my part as I see fit!
Pawn of Chaos or Gaurdian bright . . I don't care
For I will follow the broken crown through the mage's storm
Be I traitor or hero
I hold my head proud laughing at the game of the gods
Flight -- Sohkarra as Jakal saw her as a woman grown
Beautious grace
Ra's dawning is she who lives in peace
Feather like touches of cool milk
Hair bright as the smith's forge
Ageon Sea eyes of chipped sky
Hawk's cry on the northern winds
Her voice is Shu's embrace
My sister is one alone, healing hands soothing and warm
play in my dark hair
Raising we enfold like mated hawks on the desert winds
Weep No More -- Chas Cassidy meets his love Marianne Ellis
She walks in silence alone yet knowing
Thoth's guide and Isis' ear
She scribes love on every man's heart
Wounded one whose love is pure
Little quial who flutters in the jaws of the panther
I will protect you with my dying breath
as Love beckons in your smile
I go gladly into the jaws of oblivion to whom all hope shines its beacon
Flower of Life, trembling like a reed in the march winds
Weep no longer, your lord is here!
Razor's Edge -- Lyris and Ashake " Beyond the Veil" is story in the works. I wanted to show a the darker side of Lyris as her madness claims and taints her soul. Here at the journey's end, Ashake forced to show Lyris what she has become must either destroy or save her.
Muse of the Pharoah, why do you weep?
When Life is good, but in darkness you sleep
So asked the stranger whose eyes of green
speak of truth and wonders seen
Cloak of jade, milk white skin
Voice all music, rose petaled grin
The Muse's torquiose eyes only glare
"How and why do you dare?!"
The strange Celtic bard only smile
full of mystery and feminine wiles
"Shadow sister, that is not the way
the wounded bird you can not play!"
The Muse turns chill
A Stalemate, feign and drill
Staff raised she strikes
But the Celt only sighes and laughs
as the quarter staff shatters as wood meets skin
Hair colored as the autumn day hangs in her face
now clouded with unholy grace
The Muse shouts, "You can never understand.
My family's blood was on my hands.
Now lost on Kemet's land!"
The Celt looked upon her with the Sacred Eye
saw through her dark disguise
The Muse strove to weave words of her noble death
and madness mad sweet
Ashake looked deeper with her and saw all the muse's songs were lies
Ashake gathered up her magics and showed her Hathor's Mirror
Lyris' reflection was old and worn by self-hate
the net of despair she wore like her brother's cloak as her excuse
In a clear voice she spoke
"Broken lyre strings, beyond repair
your words are lies upon thin air.
Your soul was tainted when you invited madness
now you say with eyes of sadness.
Corpses lay on the battle field
from that red drenched staff you wield.
As sure as the Nile flood
on that day you shed innocent blood!"
The Muse wailed a song of death
Ashake listened dead to her sullen breath
"Averis made me what I am!"
Lyris cried her tears
"I am guiltless and that is clear . .
I fought for honor . ."
"You fought for revenge!"
Ashake called, as her words shattered her crumbling wall.
"Averis' shadow had indeed grown very long.
But it was YOU who answered his siren's song.
It was YOU who danced the Razor's Ledge
by choice YOU toppled from its edge!"
Ashake has seen beyond her ruse
this broken, bitter, poisoned Muse
She who stalks in silence's find
as shadows slowly take her mind
But Ashake meerly smiled and sang
raised her golden voice
She sang of light, love, and the cry of newborn life
The Shadow Sister was felled
by a heart who love could weld
Lyris' darkness shattered there
her spirit then laid bare
Ashake soothed her pain
and in return her soul recliamed
The Muse of new and whole
eyes rimmed with misty kohl
How petty and empty her life hade become
with the weight of deeds she wished undone
With new eyes Lyris saw Ashake for the first time
and saw a goddess of love and sublime
"Lady Celt of Eire made
lead me to where I can't be afraid.
I shall no longer fear the night
for you have lead me back into the Light."
The Celt looked upon the Muse
Black red mist shrouded her features
"When you gaze into Hathor's Mirror
for knwoledge and mysteries to seer.
For those who roll the dice
must ultimately pay magic's price!
for in Her starry eyes you will quail
for no one can peice Beyond the Veil!"
