Mmmmm.... Standard Tour then...*Puck smiles, looking at your ticket. Then looks around, as if looking for somebody watching him* If you don't mind... *takes the chains off and drops them on the floor* Aaahhh... *flexes his shoulders and sighs in relief* Don't tell the boss I took them away, please *gives you a complicity wink*
Let's start with the intro, don't we? Ahem! *clears his troath*
The Gargoyles clan you came to visit was originary from Scotland, Ussex. As their history says they lived on the cliffs where the Wyvern Castle was built for centuries before the humans arrived to that beatiful and wild place to live in... Since the humans arrived there they "cohabited" on the castle and its surroundings in a certain sort of harmony
They were feared by their bestial and monstuous appearance *half smiles sarcastically* He, he, that could be said about some humans too... but that's not my speech theme. Then, as I was saying, the humans feared the gargoyles and the majority of them despised these "noble beasts". That, unavoidably, leaded to a conflict
And when the vikings attacked the castle the conflict had just started... It happened in the year 994 A.D. The conflict wich happened could be defined more accurately as a conflict of interest: these of some of the Gargoyles, of the Gargoyles leader, of the Vikings, of the captain of the guard and of the castle inhabitants... And it ended up with the Wyvern Castle looted by the vikings, the humans moving to other places, the majority of the gargoyles clan destroyed and the remaining six gargoyles under a spell wich turned them to stone permanently. Then a... *Puck gets interrupted by your question* What? You wanna know how did that happen? Hey, it's an intro, not their whole story, but don't fret, you'll know that later... And, please, don't interrupt me when "I'm on a roll" *chuckles* That's a private joke, sorry
Err.... where was I? *Puck scratches his chin, thinking* AH! I remember... For one thousand years the enchanted gargoyles stayed on the abandoned Wyvern Castle till the day when a billionaire called David Xanatos, owner of Xanatos Enterprises, bought the castle. He knew the gargoyles story due to a magickal book in his possesion: "The Grimorum Arcanorum". In that book, full of spells, the gargoyles story was written by the same hand wich cursed them to the stone sleep
But Xanatos knew that the spell could be broken: by raising the castle above the clouds. Easy, isn't it? *grins* As I've said, he bought the castle and placed it on the top of his skycraper, the highest New York City skycraper: the Eyre Building. It means also that he moved the gargoyles from Scotland to the U.S.A.
The first night at the castle... the spell was succesfully broken. The six gargoyles statues turned into flesh! They were alive! But they were also a kind of castaways: away from their homeland and 1000 years in the future... A brand new life appeared in front of their amazed eyes *sits cross legged floating in mid air and continues talking* They needed to know all the details about living on the 20th century and they needed also to surmount their distrust about the humans. A loooong way to go, believe me
Eh? Why am I floating in mid air? *laughs mirthfully* Magic, my friend, it's magic. You'll find a lot of magick on this tour, I swear it. Yeees! Magick exists, even on this technological 20th century in wich we live
No, no, no. No more questions about this now, it will come later. Follow me and you'll learn more about the protagonists of this story. This way, please. Touch the rune, don't be afraid
