Château de Vincennes
"The Versailles of the Middle Ages" built between 1360 and 1370 just east of Paris. French kings from Charles V to Henri IV spent time away from the Louvre here. The Chateau also has been used as a luxurious prison, and Mata Hari was executed by firing squad here.
