"Excuse me," you say, "I have another idea that might help."
Williams smiles:
"Let's hear it," he says.
"Maybe we should split up into a few groups and get into the Bridge from different directions," you say, "And I think we should also set the lasers to stun if we can."
"That sounds like a good idea," you hear another Spacer say.
"Let's put it to a vote," somebody else says.
After a minute of counting hands, the Spacers decide to follow your plan, but add some of Captain Williams' ideas to it. Then Captain Williams gives each team a quick pep talk, and when everyone is motivated, the Spacers head for the ladder. Since the lifts are off limits, nobody wants to risk taking a lift to the Bridge.
You and Williams both work in a single team, along with five other Spacers. When everybody storms the Bridge, you have to decide which position you want to take in the group. Should you be the first one through the door when there are pirates on the Bridge, or should you bring up the rear, and cover the others on their way in?
If you're the first one into the room, you may get shot. If you bring up the rear, you might still get shot, but you might also live. But that's not important. You realize that if you bring up the rear, and your cover fire is good, the first person into the room should be safe.
"Everybody set
your laser pistols to stun," Captain Williams says.
Do you take the rear position and protect the first people in?
Do you take the point position and go into the Bridge first?
