Welcome!  Come in and see
The Jesus Christ Page

Well, you already know what's going to be on this page, now don't you.  This page will hopefully see some interesting material that has the potential to touch your hearts like science fiction cannot.  I hope it offers whoever is reading a chance to learn about the Lord.
Often, I find that I haven't done as much for God that I could have done.  I find that I have let him down at times.  This page is not an attempt to make up for what I lack as an imperfect human being.  It is one way that I hope to assure that other people have a chance to learn about Jesus.
The goal of this site is to allow people who just pass through the opportunity to get into contact with something bigger than normal routine life.  I hope to expand this site with links to other Christian sites, and I hope that it will allow me to spread the Word.

Bible Quote for the time being...
"Some pour out gold from their bags and weigh out silver on the scales; they hire a goldsmith to make it into a god, and they bow down and worship it.  They lift it to their shoulders and carry it; they set it up in its place, and there it stands.  From that spot it cannot move.  Though one cries out to it, it does not answer; it cannot save him from his troubles."  (Isaiah chapter 47, verses 6 and 7)
.
There is a very good reason for me to pick this quote.  Though it seems like it has no purpose at first, I will explain.  The prophet Isaiah was preaching about the gods of Babylon--Idols.  What seems strange is what Isaiah noticed.  People weigh out a quantity of gold on a scale and hire a goldsmith to make it into an idol.  They bow down and worship something that was only a lump of shapeless metal just a few hours ago!  While this is just my personal opinion, I think Isaiah said these verses with a voice of sarcasm, or pity on the people who practiced this.  Why?  Because Isaiah knows the entire process.  He is saying that worshiping and bowing down to an idol is not going to help anybody.
Isaiah sounds like he's trying to say "hey, everybody, isn't there something wrong here?  Can't you all see what's going on?  Here, all of you just handed this artist your gold coins, and he just melted them down into a vat of liquid metal.  Then he poured it into a mould that's shaped like this idol and let it cool off.  How can you bow down to something that was just a pile of coins a day ago!?!
I could understand where he's coming from.  I've looked at piles of coins and never seen them have any special powers, except to buy cokes from the vending machines.  They can't fly, they can't listen to me when I'm talking, and they certainly haven't ever helped me out by answering my deepest spiritual questions.
What I'm trying to say, and what I think Isaiah was trying to say a couple thousand years ago is this:  "I know a living god, a real god.  I know God Almighty, and I know that He has all the power, and not just a melted-down stack of coins.  God can solve all your problems if you pray to Him and believe that He will.  Is it worth giving your life to a lifeless lump of metal when you can give your life to the only real God, the Creator of this world?"
Perhaps if the Babylonians had listened, and turned to God for help, their people wouldn't have fallen to the Persians and the Assyrians.  But instead, they trusted in idols made of gold and silver, that couldn't help them even if their lives depended on them.  After all, idols are just stacks of money, or pieces of wood.  I think I'd feel embarrassed if Isaiah caught me bowing down to a tree, or thinking that a piece of metal could solve all my problems.
