Naia-chan's Fanart Gallery
Here I've assembled many of my better fanarts from
the past fifteen years or so, which is about as long as I've been doing
and keeping them! A few notes before we get started:
- All drawings are in cheap pencil unless labelled
otherwise; I own no good art supplies, gomen.
- The older the drawing, the more likely it is to have
deteriorated a bit, especially if it was coloured. The only
drawing I've physically re-coloured is my prized Max portrait.
A few pics have had their scans touched up a little, but none have
been fixed too much, to stay as original as possible.
- Many older drawings have a horrid, sketchy BG, but
that's just how I did it at the time. (I still do a little,
when I have an unusual number of sketch lines, but it's not as bad
now.) Try not to let it distract you from the looks of the
drawings themselves.
- Some drawings have cheesy rubbed-in textures.
That's just another phase I went through; try to ignore it.
- Like most people, when I began drawing, I often mimicked
others' drawings. I tried not to put many of those here,
because no-one likes copied fanarts, but there are a few.
They're labelled, so you can avoid them if you want.
- Lastly, Nami-chan's messy crayon sketches aren't
here. You'll have to visit her page if you want
to see those.
Now, on to the fanarts!

Other Pics
Copies First; Avoid Them If You Wish
Female ASC Officer's Armour
B&W copy of your standard armour pic. Looks a bit flat
to me, so I don't like it much.
Hoverbike in Perspective
Copy of a hoverbike in 3/4 perspective. Looks okay, I guess,
but for the colouring. . .
Dana (or Jeanne) Copy of
Dana (or Jeanne, take your pick) from "Southern Cross." Standard
front view, nothing special, except I thought the eyes looked vacant
and touched them up about a year after drawing it to give them more
depth.
My Prized Max Portrait
If I remember correctly, this was either a copy or based on another
Max I saw. Anyway, it's the old drawing I like best and the only
one I've physically re-coloured.
Nupetiet-Vernitzs B&W copy
of a T'sentrati flagship. Looks a bit warped to me, but they're
so hard to draw, I excuse it.
Princess Copy of a kawaii
comic book princess. Pretty good for an early copy pic.
Queadlunn-Rau B&W copy of
a T'sentrati female's powered armour. It's not as old as these
others, because it's my second draft, done long after the first.
The first one got a really bad colour job and was rejected
:-P .
Sentinels Miriya Copy
of Mir from a comic book, but sadly, I can't draw her cool hair well
:-( .
Sentinels Max Copy of
Max from a comic book. I think I did his spacesuit wrong, but
the comic's B&W, so I have an excuse.
Game Characters
Mostly from a "Robotech" RPG campaign
I used to run, but Jared was from a "GURPS" game I played, Stan was
from a game crossing "TMNT" with "Heroes Unlimited", Keiko and Kariko
were informal chat RP charas, Jo and Chinika were made for "Court Intrigue",
and Drew was from a short-lived "Pretender" PBEM.
The Chariot Probably hard to explain
who she is if you don't know the game ^_^; . The jist of it is her name
is Jo Kim, she represents The Chariot tarot card, and she's the most fun-loving
S&M dominatrix ever. So if that doesn't make you curious, I dunno what
will ^_^;;; !
Chibi Jared My favourite game character
I've ever played, drawn as a kawaii sleepy child with his teddy
bear!
Chinika Pnyango I really didn't
wanna make one of those Zodiac Senshi thingies, but was talked into it in
the C-box. I still need to do a proper paper drawing of her fuku, but here's
a lineart portrait. I meant her to be plain-looking, but no matter how
much I worked on the pic, she was beautiful anyway, so I finally just went
with it. *shrugs*
Princess-y Chinika I like this
pic a lot, but my scanner really messed it up :-( . I tried to fix
as many of the weird light spots as I could. Some of the shade transitions
still look a little weird, but I suck at image repair too much to fix that.
Anyway, there's a lot of light in this pic, to make it that you can
see her features. If not for all the light, the pencils I used for
shadows would've been midtones ^_^ . To make her gown less monochromatic,
I used a lot if different shades of pink and purple in it, but I consider
it "officially" to be a solid mauve.
Drew A childlike, clairvoyant character
with aspirations of greatness. I drew her once while the game was still
on, but it sucked, so I redrew it. . . five months later :-P . Her
hair still isn't quite right, but I love those glasses on her. If I
can't find another game to play her in, I may write a "Pretender" fic
just to use her again!
Rose in Flight Uniform
That pose looks very stock. . .may have been pirated. . . I did
love Rose, though; she was so cool and pretty!
Rose, Gus, and Unnamed
Friend That's Rose in the middle, Gus on the right, but I'm
afraid their friend never got a name, or even appeared outside that
drawing. . . I put much more detail in that BG than usual, and
even included a gag UFO like I often did in those days.
Augustine Nguyen An important
character from the RT RPG I ran, seen here in flight uni. . . looks
like a bad hair day to me. . .
Jaki A black and gold halfmoon crowntail
betta fish who was a gift from Neo Queen Serenity to Galaxia when she was
guest-starring in a holiday special on Court Intrigue. He's also the official
board mascot of This Chaotic Universe.
Jared O'Connor My favourite
game character ever, he was a lecherous Irish pianist with uncontrollable
pyrokinesis. He looks so young and sweet in this pic, though!
I think it's his best one.
Framed Jared Pic
Another of his few okay pics. (Can you tell he's a Trekkie?)
The pic's in pencil, but the dark BG might be pastel (I forget).
The best part is the copper and brass picture frame, so I left it on
for the scan.
Jo Kim I rather like this portrait of her,
especially since it shows a bit of what looks like a very cool tattoo on
her back ^_^ . I'll have to draw the rest of that bird someday, if I have
the talent.
Kariko A bit hard to explain
her. . . just suffice it to say she's a high-functioning zombie baby,
and I seem to be the only one who likes her -_-; . Originally I was just
going for kawaii-ness in this pic, but decided to go a bit creepier route,
thus the deep shadows, purposely twisted BG, and slightly demented facial
expression ^_^ . You can see there's something not quite right about that
kid, just hard to know exactly what. . .
Masami Kayibanda B&W pic
of another great RT RPG character, here looking like a beautiful African
queen. I loved her beauty, bravery, and her love of pranks,
especially when she painted the bull's eye on Hayley's VT. *giggles*
Actually, it's one of my best drawings, even if you don't know who she
is at all!
Nicolette Nguyen Gus' little
sister. . . looks like a troublemaker, but she was really a sweetie!
Philomene Gowon B&W pic
of the leader of the VT squad in my RT game. Though she's a woman,
everyone called her "Phil."
Phineas Hardison Jared's
best friend; never appeared in the game because he was dead, but shaped
Jared in the game a lot nonetheless. Oh, and that's Jared's "Kiss
Me, I'm Irish!" shirt he's wearing :-) .
Pixie Carruthers Rather
unimportant game character, but I liked to draw her because she was
sexy!
Zhou Rose Rose in a floral
dress. Apologies for the bit of blue, but I changed my mind
after I started and had to put black over it :-P .
Pixie, Looking Terribly
Sexy Told you she was sexy! I like her snake and dagger
tattoo. . . and the outfit doesn't hurt, either. . . I don't
think the kana on the side really say "Pixie," but it was the best
I could figure at the time :-P .
Stan The Siamese cat-girl
character Stan used to play. The character's name was Stacey
Danielle, which other PCs shortened to "Stan," which carried over to
the player and stuck! Kind of annoying character, though. . .
all of hers were. . .
Teen Keiko reading
Keiko is from an informal chat RP. I've drawn her several times at various
ages, but this is the only one I like enough so far to post here. Isn't
she pretty?
Cao Vinh A fun and important RT
RPG character, Vinh always livened up dull situations. RL girls
seem to really go for his looks, so view with caution.
Hikaru and Rica My beloved
Sims, Hikaru and Rica Sakamoto ^_^ . I drew this for a Cafepress store
I hoped to have, 'cause I figure my Sims don't count as copyrighted charas.
I wrote "onna" rather than "shoujo" 'cause I don't see them as "girls",
so the pic is called "Women's Love".
Yukie Gomen, I forget her
family name. . . Yukie was the kawaii daughter of a pretty cool
game character, and if I remember, she had the sweetest little-girl
crush on Gus!
My Fic Characters
This category includes Naia-chan-tachi,
since the T'sentrati character is different from the real me.
5th Anniversary Naia SD Naia drawn
for my page's fifth anniversary. Done in a more carefree style
than usual, with huge eyes and pretty, more unkempt hair :-) .
Tried to draw her in perspective, but failed miserably, gomen.
No idea why she's wearing that fuku, but doesn't she look just adorable?
Naia Zifu, Full-sized
I guess you have to take my word, since there's no size comparison.
This is my least-favourite Naia pic, anyway, because I don't like
her expression.
Sailor Starhunter One of
the Queen's Senshi from my chibi-Lights fics, with a rare "civilian"
portrait to the side. Looks like she and Yusenya use the same
barber. . . Her portrait is kawaii, though, isn't it?
Credit for her name to the Sera-myu songwriters; when I was thinking
of names for those Senshi, my brain kept saying, "faaji faaji faaji
faaaaji! faaji faaji faaji faaaaji!"
Hunter napping in a field The
Chinese-ish clothing makes her resemble girl-Ranma, gomen ^_^; ! Yeah,
I know the BG is cheesy, but when are mine not?
Kaeisuan Triibola Handsome,
genius son of Quelt'san and Naia; a bit too naive for his own good,
but I love him anyway. Since I actually drew him before his father,
I guess it's Quelt'san who looks like Kaeisuan, not vice-versa.
I think Kaeisuan's more kawaii, though!
Naia, Micronised Naia
looks pretty in this pic, but the eyes creep me out :-P . I
want to draw her more anyway; this was her first pic, and I want to
show a little how her character's evolved since then.
Magdomilla Rau I love
Maggie, don't you? Naia's XO and (unconfirmed) former lover
from the Isa, spoof Senshi from PTSN, crazy lady who runs Paranka.
. .she wears so many hats so well! Maybe I should draw and/or write
her more someday. . .
Murasaki Hanae in Full
Triton Costume The fictional myu actress I made up for Triton,
wearing my best idea of what her costume would look like in a real stage.
The actress out of costume was on the pic, but she wasn't kawaii
enough, so I cut her off :-P .
Cherub Nami Nami as
a cherub in a heart, drawn as a Valentine for my online friends.
Nami in a Dress Nami's
first day of school getup, including the ribbon she almost had to
wear. No wonder she's so sad!
Nami With a Toy Fushigidane
My favourite Nami-chan pic! She looks adorable here, and she's
holding a giant plushie Fushigidane that looks almost real!
Nami's Portrait
I'm thinking this is her school picture. She's got on the jewellery
her grandparents gave her as a welcome gift.
Sailor Triton She
looks a bit older here, to me, but still kawaii. I designed
her Triton fuku myself! Do you like it?
Unabara Nami The first
Nami pic I drew, just sitting and waving. It's the pic she looks
most like a little boy in, and I meant it that way; I wanted people
to understand the confusion.
Quelt'san Triibola I've
never stated his size in that pic, but by the serious tone, I'd guess
full-sized. Post-Naia, micronised Quelt'san is a much more cheerful
fellow.
Sailor Starraider One of
the Queen's Senshi from my chibi-Lights fics, with a rare "civilian"
portrait to the side. Since her colour is yellow, her fuku
was the hardest to do, so I tried to use different shades.
I really hate her hairstyle, but I do like her grey-haired/golden-eyed
"wolf-like" colouring.
Raider looking at the moonlight
Still not happy with this pic, despite all the time I spent on it, but here
it is, anyway. The posing seems stiff, the sheer part of her pjs
doesn't show up right, and yeah, like all my BGs, this one sucks :-P .
I'll try to do her more justice next time.
Nami As a Real Girl
I based her eyes on a RL Japanese actress who had large, oblique
eyes, and built her chubby face with its button nose and big, happy
smile around that. I think this is my best "real girl" series
picture yet!
Sailor Starreaper One of
the Queen's Senshi from my chibi-Lights fics, with a rare "civilian"
portrait to the side. Since her jewellery was inspired by old
National Geographic pics of long-necked African women, I drew
her with darker skin and kinkier hair than the rest. For a Kinmokuseijin,
she wears it quite well, don't you think?
Reaper in the forest Well, this
came out about 1000x better than her original pic, didn't it? I think
I got the shape of her eyes wrong, but other than that I like this pic pretty
well. Even the BG isn't as sucky as usual.
Sailor Naia Pirating
Ami-chan's fuku and pose for the spoof fic. The whole thing
started off as a bad joke, with friends saying how Quelt'san liked to
see/play with Naia in a Mercury costume, and escalated from there.
SD Naia Kawaii SD Naia-chan!
This is my favourite Naia pic; she goes SD so well, don't you think?
And if you look closely, she's wearing the striped turtleneck and
Elmo shortalls from the PTSN fic.
SD Nami Nami, on the other
hand, doesn't like being SD. . . Here, she looks very sad
and angry, wears Pikachu overalls, and holds an Uranus nuigurumi.
SD Sailor Triton But
as Triton, she doesn't seem to mind! This pic's okay, but I
think POed SD Nami-chan is better.
Sleepy Nami Nami in
her blue footie pajamas, ready for bed. Looks like her giant
'Dane plushie is, too.
Teen Nami Speculating
on Nami as a teen-ager, and she still looks kawaii. She has
Triton's pink shell tattooed on her inside left ankle, and my RL teen-aged
Nami doll does, too!
Tracey Reilly Honestly,
she's not as pretty as I originally thought. . . but a cool character
nonetheless, eh?
Yusenya Kuwai This is
my second pic of her; I kept the haircut and shirt logo from the first
pic and scrapped the rest! This one's much more how I imagined
her, anyway. I rather like it :-) .
Copyrighted Characters
Adam Park The cute and shy
second Black Power Ranger, remember? I drew this to send, along
with fanmail, to Johnny Yong Bosch when he used to be on the show.
I doubt he ever got it, though.
Nakayama Akiko as Uranus
I drew this to send with a fanmail to Akiko, delivered at a
performance of SKSDK. I can only hope she enjoys it, and can read
my fanmail okay (written in simple English, as my Japanese still sucks
:-P ).
Sexy Ami You know
I had to draw her in the leather outfit Yaten got her into!
Part Miss Parker, part Anne Robinson; this is a damned good look
for her, don't you think? Gomen, this was the best scan I could get;
the colour and contrast are much better IRL.
Marilyn-style Ami Not
as sexy as the Marilyn pic it's meant to resemble, but kind of pretty
anyway. It's done in pastels, which I'm not good at, but I do like
the colouring on her hair and eyes.
Ami in a suit I think
I'm getting better at drawing Ami, since this looks more like her
than any I've done before. Something about the suit makes her seem English.
. . maybe the sweater was overdoing it? Should've worked harder on
the (last-minute addition) tie pattern, but I rather like it anyway.
Jaki's aquarium I made this cute little
house for Jaki to live in ^_^ . Yes, it goes in this section, 'cause you
can see his lovely owner looking in on him.
Audrey Seiya Almost
didn't make it in here for looking too thin, until I remembered it's
an Audrey Hepburn-inspired pic. . . as if that woman ever ate :-P
. . . Chalked-in BG kinda smudged on all the black, though, gomen
:-( . I like her attempt at an Audrey pose and expression, anyway.
Seiya on the beach
A beautiful pic, done in pencils with a pastel BG, of Seiya in a blue
sundress, walking barefoot on a beach. I'm quite proud of how I made
her look like a real girl for once instead of a boy in a dress, the
way I've seen others draw her.
Beach Galaxia One of the most unlikely
pics ever, but I did it ^_^; . I'm still unhappy with my ability to draw
in perspective, but other than that I rather like this pic. I really like
the fact she has a tan here, as it looks really good next to the brightness
of her hair ^_^ .
Beka Valentine Fairly mediocre,
as I'd never drawn her before :-P . Nonetheless, a copy of this
pic went to Lisa Ryder in a fan-scrapbook her fan club was putting together.
She also got a letter and a picture of me. . . as if she'd wanna
see my ugly mug :-P . . .
Ami in a bikini I hate
"bikini girl" pics in general, but I saw a pic of an idol I thought
strongly resembled Ami, and the resemblance nagged at me until I stole
the pose for this pic. Pretty well-shaded, a decent Ami resemblance,
and I really like the way her hair came out, so I'm actually pretty
happy with this.
Billy Cranston Another MMPR
fanmail gift, this one to David Yost when he used to be on the show.
Billy (shy, genius first Blue Power Ranger) was always my favourite,
and I still play with his merchandise even now! I really wish
he'd gotten his fanmail, but again, I really doubt it.
Cybersix, take two My second
portrait of her (as much as could fit on the scanner, anyway), and
infinitely better than the first! It's a mixture of the series' animation
style and my own, with lots of painful expression in her eyes. Now
if I could just do a successful full-fig of her with Data 7, I could
die happy. *laughs*
Taiki and Ami as Cybersix and
Data 7 I just adore Ami-chan in that kitty/panther suit, and
Taiki-sama so has that C6 glare down! Oddly, I think I draw
Taiki as C6 better than I do C6 herself :-P .
Cybersix My first time
drawing her, but I can't decide if I like it or not. I guess
the hair's okay, but I should've done her more like the style she's
animated in. It might've looked better that way.
Chibi Seiya Adorable
little Seiya from my chibi-Lights fics, having dirtied her school
uni and scraped up her knee playing Seiya Ball. I just adore this
pic, don't you?
Chibi Taiki Trying
to do Taiki's first appearance from my chibi-Lights fics. This
is my second try; the first was just horrid! I think this one's
more "kawaii but geeky" as I intended.
Another Chibi Taiki
So few people recognised the first chibi-Taiki, I drew another. Three
tries, but I still don't like it; she looks too old. Maybe it's the
hair?
Chibi Yaten I drew
her sitting on a bench looking utterly bored. Not as kawaii
as intended, but I rather like it, anyway.
Three Lights as Alvin
and the Chipmunks Too big for my scanner, so I scanned it in
pieces and put it together. It was really hard to obscure all
the scan lines! It's an all right pic, I guess, but more for
humour than skill.
Death I drew this years
ago for a contest, lost it, and only just found it again. For an
old pic, I love this one. She looks adorable! Unfortunately, the pic
is done in crayon (what was I thinking?) and the dates on the tombstones
are too far apart.
Ten'ou Haruka This
is my rarely-seen first attempt to draw my beloved Haruka-sama.
Unfortunately, there's so little resemblance, you'd never know it's
her if I didn't say so :-( .
Sailor Uranus My
first attempt to draw her as Uranus, but still no resemblance :-(
. The best part of the whole pic is the bow :-P , and I had to
cover up several major errors in this pic's life. This was my
first major hint I'm unable to draw her well.
Galaxia being as un-Galaxia-like
as possible Yeah, the sketchy blue BG was just me being lazy -_-; . This
pic is related to a game I play her in. She's trying very hard not to let
anyone know who she is. I think this is a better disguise than just the
Earth clothes pic, as I wouldn't know who she is here is I hadn't drawn her
myself!
Galaxia fitting in on Earth
Somehow, I think she's still conspicuous ^_^; . This pic is very beautiful,
though, so I'm quite proud of it. I even managed to do her hair pretty
well!
A Rapunzel-ish Galaxia This
is the second draft of this pic, but it still doesn't look like I wanted
:-( . Hopefully it doesn't suck as much as I think it does.
Yaten As a Go-Go Girl
I kind of don't like this pic; it doesn't look very Yaten-like to me.
The outfit is partly borrowed from a Barbie I saw in a book.
Yes, I know the boots and belt don't match the outfit, but if I did
them black they'd blend in too much! Just say they match her hair
instead.
Taiki and Ami at the Grammys
Kind of primitive, but I had fun doing it anyway, because I got to
draw Ami in that dress! They're both so pretty dressed up, don't you
agree? Unfortunately, it scans horribly; the colours are a lot brighter
and the contrast and details way better IRL.
Haruka in a green suit
I was trying to draw someone else, but she looked so much like Haruka-sama,
I just had to do this alternate version. Surprisingly, this accidental
pic is way better than any I've done of her on purpose!
Haruka Good Luck Charm
A girl I know said she needed this for her driving test. Fairly kawaii
for a quickie, I guess. *shrugs* The kanji mean "good luck!" according
to my dictionary.
Haruka, rather ecchi
Blatantly copied from a photograph found on a webpage. Shading sucks
as usual, but otherwise I'm really proud of how this turned out.
Haruka and Michiru School
Couple Eep. . .as you see, I still can't draw them! I got
closer on the eyes here than usual, but everything else is still pretty
bad :-P .
Jo My first time trying to draw Jo from
"Bakuretsu Tenshi". It's just a portrait, but I guess it came out all
right. *shrugs*
Khyron Kravshera
Okay B&W Khyron/Kamjin sketch. I think it was originally
an envelope pic when I used to do them, but it's turned up elsewhere
since.
Lights In Undies Three Lights
in boy bodies, lounging around in undies. Yeah, I royally screwed
up the BG (looks even worse in person, unfortunately -_-; ), but it's not
that bad otherwise, I guess. *shrugs* Mainly I just drew this
so I could tell people, "It's Lights porn! Porn, I say!" Er,
not quite, I know, but I did draw man-nipples. . .
Draco Malfoy Drawn completely
on a whim. I'm not sure how much this resembles him (having
not yet seen the movie at the time, drew it by one pic on a figure pack),
but I think it's kawaii anyway.
Meg and Jo in love A sweet little
pic of Meg snuggling onto Jo's arm. I meant Jo to look impassive, as
usual, but I think she came out a bit lovey-looking, too ^_^; . Ah well.
Miriya With a Gun Kind
of messy, but intended to be a B&W pic of Miriya/Millia firing
a gun. The posing was adapted from some pic in a kids' book. .
. you can probably tell it was a guy at first. . . I think the
head looks pasted on, but it's not a bad face anyway, so I put it.
Gomen, I tried to obscure some of the tape (pic's seen better days),
but it came out all distorted instead. *sweatdrops*
Moody Taiki Not as
depressing-looking as I imagined, but I rather like it, anyway, with
her pouty face and how her pony is blowing in the wind. I wanted a
very delicate blue for the bg, so I covered my fingers in chalk and smudged
them all over the paper. *laughs* But I think the bareness of the bg
adds to the lonely feeling of the pic, don't you?
A Myu-type Galaxia This took forever,
with all the tiny details, and I'm still not sure I got them all right O_o
. Meh, I wish I'd done more with the posing, but the costume gave me enough
hell I didn't wanna make the pose hard, too. She looks very different than
how I usually draw her, but I rather like it. Oddly enough, I think that's
the best hair I've ever drawn for her ^_^;;; .
Nova portrait A
beautiful Nova (not Lana) portrait I drew for Alex. It looks
even prettier IRL! I was so tempted to keep it for myself
instead. . . he's just lucky I like him, or I would've!
Nova Satori It's Nova,
not Lana, simply because I drew it for my friend Alex on his Nova
crush. (Hope you don't mind I borrowed your scan, but I couldn't
scan it myself when it's over there.) This is done in pencils
as usual, but the cloud BG is in chalk.
Odango Galaxia Yes, she blatantly
stole that hairstyle, but are you gonna be the one to tell her she can't
use it? Despite the lazy BG, I am seriously in love with this pic. Why
did I never notice how insanely beautiful this woman is before?
Taiki done entirely in
purple It was bigger than my scanner bed, so this is just as
much as would fit, but I think I got everything that was important.
I used maybe eight or ten different shades of purple, from lavender
to orchid to violet, in this, but even scanning at a really high res,
they didn't all show as well as they do IRL :-( . I really like the mood
of this pic, though-- darker and more depressing than any of my earlier
Taiki.
Ami As a Real Girl (new
version) I like this infinitely more than the one I had :-) .
She looks prettier and more convincingly Asian here, and I finally
captured the perpetual sadness in her eyes! I'm very proud of this
one :-) .
Ami As a Real Girl (PGSM-inspired)
The original version of the above, drawn because I'm so unhappy with
Hama Chisaki, Ami-chan's live television actress. (Not just her
looks, but her performance, both of which were completely opposite of
any other Ami-chan version I know :-( . *pokes her*) This is how
a real, live, black-haired Ami-chan should've looked! (Resemblance to
Chieco unintentional, and only just noticed. *sweatdrops*) A really
beautiful, t-shirt or poster worthy pic :-) .
Haruka As a Real Girl
This was really hard. . . I drew her with Asian features because
she's Japanese, but when I coloured her in her right anime colours,
she looked weird. . . I still don't think I did her pretty enough,
but it's the best I could do.
Taiki As a Real Girl
Since the Lights are aliens, not Japanese, I could draw her with
a more exotic appearance. I rather like that nose on her, but
I think the "big alien eyes" bit got a little carried away. Considering
doing another version based on Akiko. . . you know, in case their alien
race could actually pass for Japanese. . .
SD Nova Another Nova (not
Lana) drawn for Alex. I think this was a scan I did before
I gave the pic away. It's not as good as the other Nova, but okay
for an SD done by me.
SD Uranus and Neptune See?
I'm not good at SD :-P . I think this was my first one, though,
so it's the worst. The faces are passable; it's just the rest
of the pic I'm not fond of.
Sei underwater, with fish! Another
birthday gift for Stephane. Not sure if he likes Sei, but he digs underwater
chicks, so yeah. . .
Seiya and Abbie Seiya
cuddling with sleeping Abbie (my friend's character). I purposely
left out details and drew simply, and only outlined a bit in light-blue
marker for a kind of spooky/dreamlike quality. Kawaii for an experiment.
Sera A photocopy of a drawing
I did on a postcard to enter a contest. Got that? Anyway,
it's Sera, as seen in "Aftermath." I do like it, apart from the
neck. . .I went through a "big neck" phase once after mundanes criticized
my anime pics for having small necks. I regret that phase so much
now!
Three Lights As Shonen
Knife I saw a cool pic of Shonen Knife sitting on a live sofa
(in the "Happy Hour" CD) and somehow it made me think of Three Lights.
Change the sofa into Kakyuu, the clothes to their Senshi colours, and
this is what you get! It's pencil except some lines are in wide-line
black marker. It doesn't fit on a scanner, so I scanned it in halves
and pieced it together to approximate the real thing.
Ami swimming Yup, he finally
got me to do it, too. *wonders how he does that* This is the pic of
Ami-chan swimming I drew for Stephane's birthday. I added the water and
the sunlight shining down into it by computer, but the pic I drew all
on my own.
Taiki and Ami cuddling I decided kinda
last-minute I wanted to draw this as a "birthday present" for Ami-chan.
I guess it's a sweet idea, but yeah, you can tell it's rushed -_-;;; .
Taiki and Ami reading together
Despite all the time and effort put into it, it's not that good, gomen.
Poor Ami-chan, her face looks awful :-( ! I'd redraw it if I thought
I could do any better, but the posing is hell, gomen.
Taiki in a yellow camisole
Kind of evil-looking, but she's a semi-reformed vampire in the chat
RP I drew this from, so I'll let it slide.
Taiki-sama all dressed
up I drew this for a PBEM I was in (she wore that to a dinner),
but it scans really badly, gomen. IRL it's all sparkly with glitter (simulating
beadwork-- no seed beads around, gomen) and crystal sequins! I was feeling
tacky when I made it :-P .
Taiki In a Koduck Hat
A kawaii pic of Taiki in a Koduck hat, the continuation of an old
joke that was never that funny to begin with.
Taiki, Almost Ecchi
That fic scene was just too good not to inspire fanart! It's
Taiki, just woken up and wearing only a partly-buttoned shirt.
Her hair looks close to how mine used to look in the morning!
*examines pic* And it looks like she might've stolen my glasses
as well. Right now this is my favourite Taiki drawing :-) .
Taiki From a Dream
Based on a similar, but manga, Taiki I saw in a dream. This
is my second draft; the first became a gift, but went unappreciated
:-( . The original was done in chalk; this one is (cheap) pastel,
has a prettier BG, and included the glasses (they were in the dream,
but not the first drawing). Yet another version, line art done
in lavender gel pen, was one of my fanmail gifts to Ono Hikari.
I do hope she received and enjoyed it!
Taiki as Pop Art
An intellectual Taiki in school uniform and glasses, coloured in
a bright, pop art style. I hated the pop art colouring at first,
but now I think it's the best part of the pic.
Taiki Kou Mini-poster
The first time I drew my beloved Taiki-sama. . . or the second draft
of my first drawing, anyway. It's a small poster, but too big
for a scanner, so I scanned it in halves and pieced it together to approximate
the real thing. Turns out, she's one of few anime characters I can
draw pretty well.
Taiki's tattoo Second
draft trying to figure what her tattoo looks like. I know a red rose
would last longer, but white is her rose, and it looks great as it
is, so I left it. Even if it was done while drunk, I hope she'll learn
to love it as much as I do :-) . This is threatening to take over as my
favourite Taiki-sama pic :-) .
Taiki as Twiggy "Twiggy
no minisukaato de, Twiggy mitaina poosu de. . ." Taiki just
strikes me as a girl who likes retro, so here she wears a mod dress
and Twiggy haircut, doing Twiggy's pose. Unfortunately, the flesh scans
too orange, for some reason :-( . It's a pretty cool pic, nonetheless.
A thoughtful male
Seiya I'd have to say male because of the size of the shoulders
vs hips. . . possibly the hip shape, too. . . *shrugs* Anyway, I guess
it's not too bad, considering I never could do Seiya well. At least
the hair came out fairly well, even if the rest is mediocre.
Vachon standing by a brick wall Yup,
I actually finally drew him ^_^ . I like this pic-- he's all kawaii and
anime-ish, and I managed not to make the stubble look stupid. I had no good
ref pics on hand for his jacket, so I kinda winged it. Hope I didn't mess
it up too much.
Vampire Taiki I
did this one night on a whim with pencils and pastels. It's a portrait
of Taiki-sama as a vampire. . . as she tends to go repeatedly in RP
chats -_-; . . . Somehow she came out wearing way too much make-up -_-;
.
Vampiru It's a very close vampire-y portrait
that was meant to be vaguely creepy, but the way I draw fangs always looks
too sweet for that -_-; . Despite that, I do rather like this pic. . .
makes me wanna send a copy via fanmail to Hikari-sama. . .
Vampiru looking freaked out Her
dad must've done something, to make her look like that ^_^ ! The expression
is more understated than I would've liked to do, but I was trying to keep
some Hikari-sama resemblance, which is harder to do with an exaggerated
expression. So I went a more subtle, semi-realism route.
Vampiru in black Yeah, I got lazy
and didn't do a proper BG where I should've. . . and I still can't do perspective
to save my life. . . but I guess this is an all right pic, anyway. *shrugs*
Vampiru all sad Yeah, I still can't
do profiles or perspective, but I guess I like this pic okay. I was gonna
go for tears, but thought that might be a bit much, so I settled for this.
Yaten as a Victoria's Secret Angel
I love drawing Yaten-- no matter what you draw her wearing or doing, she
always looks great ^_^ ! She's modelling lacy pink undies and wings
in this one. I think I gave her too much cleavage shadow, and that
hand totally sucks, but it's a decent pic besides that. . . probably owing
more to her beauty than my skill.
Ironic Angel Galaxia My holiday '07 greeting
for my OL friends. Originally I was gonna draw someone else as my ironic
angel, but when this suggestion came up in the CI box I had to go with it
^_^ . Of course, to stick with the "ironic angel" theme, she's got that
evil look in her eye and is holding a stolen starseed. I think I could've
done a better job drawing her if I weren't so pressed for time, but I rather
like it, anyway.
Yaten as Amelie I seem
to like doing movie chara-inspired pics lately. This one didn't turn
out half as well as I'd hoped, but maybe it's good enough, anyway.
Against my usual policy, I doctored the pic with my crappy image-editing
program into something almost resembling the movie poster. I really
don't like altering pics by computer-- I'd rather people see how well
I can draw rather than how well I can just edit crappy pics into looking
all right by computer-- but just this once I'll make an exception, for
comic value.
Yaten Kou Portrait Yaten's
portrait with lots of earrings. This is my second draft; the
first was done in chalk, but looked too pastel, so I did it over in
dark pencils. I really like this one :-) .
Yaten blowing a kiss
Not as many earrings as the one above, but she does have a great
navel ring with dangly stars! This is my new favourite Yaten pic :-)
.
Yaten and Ustarda Made
to go with the Seiya+Abbie experimental pic, it's my friend's character
Ustarda in simplistic line-art holding Yaten, accented with green pencil
(because I had no pale-green marker :-P ). Star looks so like
Haruka-sama when not coloured. . .
Yawning Haruka Not sure I
like this pic. *shrugs* Maybe vaguely cute, but not much more positive
to say about it. Ah well.
Yellow Mini-poster Yellow
Lancer/Dancer/Belmont (just pick one) in a blue Chinese-style dress.
I freehand-drew all those flowers myself! A pretty pic done in
chalk, scanned in two parts, and pieced together. The (bad) kanji
say "Kiiro," but I still can't tell is his name's "Yellow" or "Kiiro"
for real; need to watch more sub videos to know for sure.
The Les Gala-ish Galaxia The
one from the game where she's trying to be as un-Galaxia-like as possible,
here wearing a pretty yellow dress that laces up at the back, although she
doesn't dress that way in the game. I think I was half in a myu-ish
mindset and wishing we could've seen her in a pretty gown there when I drew
this ^_^; .
Yaten's wedding After a couple of
tries, I designed these Kinmokusei wedding clothes for Yaten and my
friend's character, Ustarda. The little pattern is kinmokusei flowers,
or meant to be :-P (I can't draw them well, gomen). Not fond of the pic
overall, wasn't going to put it up, but I wanted to show off the alien
clothes!
What Fits Nowhere Else. . .
Abbie's Roman Holiday
I was watching Roman Holiday one day, when I had the weird
idea to draw Abbie in the role of the main character. Turned out
pretty well, except too bright. Sadly, when I tried to dull it by
computer, the highlights in her hair turned grey :-( .
Abbie with a tattoo
My friend's character. . . yes, her hair is in hearts. . . The butterfly
is much brighter IRL, but being the same blue as Ami's couture gown,
it also scanned very badly, gomen.
Baby Melody, all dressed
up Abbie's baby, and the first baby I've ever been able to draw
worth a crap. *laughs* For that alone, I think she deserves a place
here!
Abbie2 Much more kawaii
doppelganger of my friend's character, played with in chat RPs.
Gargoyle A random female
gargoyle I drew for no reason. I like her pose and hair; it's
just her face that doesn't appeal to me.
My friend's birthday gift
Explaining what this is and why would take way too long. *sweatdrops*
I'll just say I drew this in a rush on her birthday, which is why it's
scribbly. It's here because I like the quiet simplicity of it. Very pretty
for a rush job.
Ustarda, rather feminine
I knocked this off in an hour or two, for no special reason. Probably
the most feminine you'll ever see Star look! I think I did pretty
well on her hair, though, except for having made it lighter than usual.
*shrugs*
Goth Kitty Ustarda This.
. . is just gorgeous. . . maybe the best Star pic ever, seriously!
Okay, so I still can't do perspective worth a crap, but it's Star-chan.
. . as a goth kitty. . . with a revealing leather dress and fishnets.
. . *nosebleeds all over the keyboard* The BG is purple chalk, which is
why it kinda smudged on the black a bit, but I'll forgive that.
SD me building a snowman
A holiday present for OL friends. Simple but kawaii.
Jonna Nyström Yes, I copied and pasted
^_^; . My friend's game chara which she asked me to draw for her. Erm,
yeah, I made the clothes myself, for better or for worse.
Visual Kei Ustarda
A "real girl" pic of Star-chan looking like an escapee from a Visual
Kei band! This pic resides in CA now, as I drew it specifically
for a gift.
A bit older Melody,
eating a cookie She's getting crumbs all over her dress. *laughs*
I like the hair, though, and the butterfly clippie.
Yet another Abbie variant
This one is a Neko-Abbie with dyed-purple hair. How she managed
to dye her hair without dyeing the fur on her ears is a mystery to me!
She's fairly kawaii, despite the Maxim bikini-girl look of the pic.
. . and the fact I got the perspective on her legs and foot wrong -_-
. . . Maybe later I'll add in a beach BG, if I feel less lazy.
Neko-Abbie pinup Going
for a sexy Marilyn/nudie-pinup sort of thing here. I kinda regret
the chalked-in tie-dye BG, though. . . shoulda gone older vintage on
that. . . but not too bad, anyway.
Ant Dancer Ninja
I had to draw a pic based on this randomly-generated set of traits:
"This selfless kunoichi is very tall and has a wide-hipped build.
She has piercings on her arms. Her almond-shaped eyes are gray. She
has straight cherry red hair worn in an attractive style. Her outfits
are usually alabaster and include large earrings. Her preferred weapon
is a whip (which has an ancient and terrible past). She is skilled in acting,
herbology, and dancing. She can take on the traits of an ant." I did it
last-minute, and didn't ink, nor take enough time filling in, which is probably
why she's so awful :-P .
A pretty Abbie portrait
A non-heart-haired Abbie, as she sometimes gets drawn now. She looks
a bit less vacant than usual here, and the alternate hairstyle is
nice. The ring she's wearing is amethyst quartz. I used to
own that ring, and completely loved it, but it's broken now :-( . *needs
a new one*
Abbie as a real girl
Somehow she came out looking like Anza, which I didn't notice until
after I finished drawing her, but isn't it appropriate?
A realistic self-portrait
Second draft-- the first looked too old, so vanity drove me to do
this one, which I'm much happier with. This is what I look like with
my non-Taiki-sama-copying haircut.
Ustarda as a real girl
I wasn't sure if my friend meant her to look alien or Asian, but this
seems to lean more towards the latter. She looks very androgynous and
beautiful/handsome! *glomps her*
Katayama Sayuri I kinda
like this, even though I'm still not sure it really looks like her.
SC-3, Amanda Someone on a
MB I'm on asked people to draw her fanmade Cyber, so I did. Wouldn't
you just kill for that hair?
SD Ustarda She's not wearing
red or black (rare for her!) and she's hugging a kawaii Yaten nuigurumi!
I kind of neglected to account for her left arm, though. *sweatdrops*
Oopsie. . . I think it's kawaii, nonetheless.
Self-portrait Me dressed
as Taiki-sama, with a chalked-in background. Triple rare because:
1) it's me 2) I'm in a costume, and 3) I'm wearing my glasses. I'm not
fond of this one :-P .
Ustarda Cherub Most
likely to next end up on a t-shirt, it's a sad but pretty, classical-looking
Star-chan cherub! *glomps her* I meant her to have white wings, but
when those looked bad I changed to sand, which adds a lot to the classical
look, as does the lighter than usual hair. (Okay, so I just used the
wrong pencil that day, but on this pic, it works!)
Ustarda as Jeanne D'arc
I know little about swords and armour, so excuse me if hers look
off, but I like this one. Even though it's Star, not Jeanne, trade
the green hair for dark-brown or black and she's very close to how I
imagine Jeanne might've looked :-) . Pencil with chalked-in BG, and
largely inspired by pics of Ingrid Bergman in the role.
Ustarda with a tattoo
Meant to match the Abbie pic, kind of, but I draw scorpions even
worse than butterflies, gomen. No wonder Star looks so upset we're
looking at it!
Ustarda My friend's character,
whose drawing resulted in my accidental Haruka pic. I like to glomp
onto her and play with her hair in chat RPs :-) .
Two Ustarda pics A portrait
and full-figure of her. . . *laughs* That outfit kind of looks T'sentrati-like,
with how I filled it in, eh? I rather like it on her, though.
Ustarda's face The
splash page pic for the Star KiSS doll I made. Kawaii, even if the
hair's a little fluffy.
Waterlily A very stylized
waterlily on rippling water I drew in anticipation of having a Cafepress
store (and needing some non-fanart to put in it). If I ever work out
how to get the store up and running, maybe you'll see it there.
"The" white rose Something else
I drew for the store. I loved Taiki-sama's tattoo from my fics, but knew
fanart was a no-no, so I did this bigger, more detailed pic of the rose
itself.
Carolling me 2006 Holiday gift for
my OL friends.
