This started off as a perfectly good de Haviland Comet 4 airliner. The first production versions flew in 1968, looking not unlike it's civilian counterpart but stuffed with gear for maritime patrol and anti-sub work. Pictured above is one of the later versions, the AEW3 which reached RAF squads in 1984.
