In the beginning there was nothing ...

Here in lies absolutely nothing of any interest to anyone in any type of world.  I am surprised that ye are still reading this, but more than that, I am suprised that I am still typin it.  Well, if ye must read on, I will continue to type.  Who knows, maybe ye will find something of use in these few words or maybe something of creativity may come out of this glob of flesh in my head, men of science call a brain.

So ye have decided to stay, very well, I will share a tale of magic, adventure, and danger with ye (aren't they all filled with these things?).

Not long ago, when the world was no longer young, there lived a great dragon (bet ye didn't know this, eh?).   The Dragons name was Shalongnamedow, or ... Shadow for short if ye will have it.  I thought so, well Shadow was, as I said great and, hungry for some sort of adventure.  He had lived in his lair for more than 5,000,000 years without the thrill of adventure.  In fact it had been close to 4,900,000 years sinse anyone visited his great jewel filled home, though those who did visit were usually thieves, and did not live to tell any one they had seen his lair.

Shadow decided he would venture back out into the world and see what has changed.  Little did he know of the technology of today.

As the great wyrm made his way to the exit of his lair, he noticed that he had grown too large to fit through the massive entrance, but no big obstacle, there was not a mountain on any world that could stop his fiery breath.

Not more than a breath later, Shadow was soaring above the frozen glaciers and clouds, stretching out the kinks from too much lying around.  Ye would never guess what the first thing made it's way into the eyes of the ancient dragon.   Well that is what I am telling this for, ye need but just listen.

As his mighty dragoness emerged over the rise of a great mountain range, he saw a wonderous sight, the City of New York, though he just thought of it as a very very big city like he used to plunder in the old days.  How wonderous was this place.  Chariots without horses, buildings bigger than his mightiness himself, millions and millons of humans, never had he seen so many humans in one place.  Why this place just may take days to lay to the ground.  But first he thought he should find out if this city was dedicated to an evil or good God, would not be good to eradicate those of the good alignment, after all, how could an evil city rise to such wonder?

Shadow lowered his huge form transforming as he did, and as he gently touched the ground with his feet, he was a 6 and 1/2 foot tall human.  Of course, he was not aware that freeways were not the safest place to stand during rush hour.  He was not aware that these horseless buggies traveled at speeds the rivaled his flight speed, and when the first car hit his human form he was very surprised.

In nearly 6 million years nothing had ever made the dragon do something that he did not want to do, however, the car hit him, he flew through the air and he landed on his back.  Now that was a pain he had not felt in quite some time.  He thought, someone wants to fight.

As he started to rise, fire burning in his eyes, a human emerged from the car, and could not say sorry enough.  He ran over to where Shadow was getting up and pleaded with the great dragon, in human form ofcourse.  "I didn't see you" he said, over and over again.

Now Shadow was a good dragon, yes.  But he did not take kindly to getting hit this hard by anyone, much less a puny human.  Shadow grabbed the human lifting him off his feet and roared, singing the hair on the humans face.  The look of horror on the humans face made Shadow chuckle to himself, how he like the fear he caused.

Shadow deceided that the human had been sufficiently firghtened and lowered him to the ground.

"You can redeam yourself, human, by showing me this city and taking me to the King, or Chief, or who ever is the leader here." Shadow replied with a deep voice.

"Uhuhuh...uhuh...yea...yea...I'll do that...", obviously the human was totally confused at how he had hit someone doing nearly 90 miles an hour, and this person not only was talking but was lifting him off the ground and giving him instructions.

As Shadow rode with the human stranger, he witnessed everything about how to operate one of these contraptions that did not use horses.

Now the human, he really had no idea where to take this guy, I mean, take me to your leader, he thought.  Could this guy be an alien, after all he did come from out of the sky and he did call me a human.  But then his strange cloths were as if he had just come from the filming of Excaliber, how strange the human thought.  Ok, I'll take him to city hall, best place as any, he thought.

As they drove into the city, the human said, "Hey, my name is Joe, whats yours?"

Now Shadow didn't care anything about this human so he said,"just keep yer horse moving towards the leader of this city."

Well...more to come...more to come...er...when my glob of flesh thinks of it...
