Hazardous materials (hazmat) cleanup demands specialized equipment and training. Frequently, rubberized suits are used to prevent personnel from getting their clothing contaminated by whatever they're cleaning up. These are hot, and sometimes difficult to move in, but much better in the long run than getting covered in toxic waste. Their present military cousin is the NBC (Nuclear, Biological, Chemical) suit, which I have heard described as "hazmat gear with an attitude." -- Reno
