THE BEATLES
|
The Beatles were pioneers of a sense. They prepared the country for what was to come. They defied the authoritarians and destroyed the standard. They made us think twice about the Brits, who we once thought of only as cocky pricks. I salute the Beatles, and everything they stand for.

The Jimi Hendrix Experience was as home-grown as they come. Good-ole boys, you might say. They blew away the fans at Woodstock and live on in the music world with rock classics such as "Purple Haze," "Foxy Lady," "Wild Thing," and "Hey Joe." Jimi Hendrix is the greatest African-American musician in history.

The country singer for the Anti-Country listener. A Charlie Daniels song, such as "The Devil Went Down to Georgia," can lift anyone's spirits.
