His father, an admiral in Starfleet Command, sent all his three sons�Jason being the youngest�to the Starfleet Academy, where they all graduated with honors.
Jason's mother, who came from a family of mixed Terran/Vulcan ancestry, was a Flight Control Officer at the USS Aberg. This ship was destroyed by Klingons in the Neutral Zone, due to a malfunction in the navigation-computer which led them off course. Jason was only 3 years old when she died. His father took upon himself the responsibility of raising his sons, thus they were all early introduced to military discipline, and Jason in particular was colored by his growing-up so close to Starfleet.
Jason was accepted at the Academy at the age of 16. His major was Security/Tactical, where he for a time studied under Admiral William Farley. Obviously impressed by Jason's skills and steel-nerves, Adm. Farley recommended him for Starfleet Intelligence�where Farley himself was one of the highest ranking officers at the time. Here, along with taking another major in Science, plus a minor in Electronics, Jason excelled in simulated Covert Operations and earned a degree in Intelligence Gathering. When he graduated, Ensign Scott was put under the direct command of Adm. Farley, Omega Division, Starfleet Intelligence. During the following four-year-period, Jason quickly rose in the ranks, and was recently promoted to the rank of Lt. Commander.
His first mission was a covert operation, where he went under cover as FCO on the USS Grant. Here he helped disclose an attempted mutiny against Starfleet Command, where Captain Joshua Marlowe and certain members of his crew intended to heat up the old conflict between the Federation and the Klingon Empire. Due to Lt.Cmdr. Scott's efforts, this attempt was strangled in its birth.
Present mission: After the success of his first mission, Adm. Farley assigned Jason to the USS Trinity, again under the guise of FCO. His assignment is to observe and gather information, i.e. to find out if Captain Talia Bedford is loyal to the Federation. Her past as a mercenary, in addition the rather strange incidents concerning her promotion, is more than enough reason for Starfleet to keep an extra keen eye on her. In theory, this mission is much like his first one, especially if Captain Bedford should turn out to be 'in bed' with some of her allies from her time as a mercenary.

Abilities: Merging his expertise in electronics with his degree in Intelligence Gathering, Jason is practically an expert in surveillance. His ability to hide a 'bug' where nobody can find or spot it, is one of his greatest assets on missions such as the ones he has been assigned to.
