Aquabats, The:
Just in here for completeness sake...
Black Market Pop Tarts, The:
I relly don't know much about these guys, but with a name like this, how can they be bad?
Black Market Pop Tarts They've got a very funny site!
Buck-O-Nine
These guys rock! Really. Reggae and ska, harmoniously joined... ;-)
Hippos, The:
Okay. To be frank, these guys rule! I mean, they really rule. If you can pick up their EP Forget the World on Vagrant/Fueled by Ramen. You won't be dissapointed. They really do a good blend of 2-Tone style with 90's punk and 3rd wave.
The Official Hippos Site Notes: Not exactly the best site for small monitors(like mine), but not a bad one.
MADNESS!!!!:
If you don't know who Madness is get the hell offa my ska page!
The Official Madness I think Official Madness is a good idea. We could make a holiday out of it...
One Step Behind A Madness tribute band.
Mealticket:
Cool band. Cute female lead vocalist.
Mighty, Mighty, Bosstones
We all know the story. Band from Boston, been around since '89, blah, blah, blah.
Reel Big Fish:
Okay, I know, they're sellouts, they don't care about the ska scene. So what? Do you really care? I don't. Besides, I consider them mainly a rock band with some ska flavored stuff. So sue me.
Save Ferris:
These guys are cool. I don't care what anyone says, calling them sellouts and whatnot, I like them and that's all that matters. Ah well.
The Official Save Ferris Site Pretty commercial, but they've got a cool message board.
The Unofficial Save FerrisNow this is a very well put together fansite. Very nicely done, with up-to-the-minute information, and everything. Nice guy, too.
Sax-O-Tromba:
These guys can play, man!
Skatalites, The: This band is wonderful. They continue touring despite the loss of their amazing Tenor Sax man Roland Alphonso(see bottom of page).
Specials, The:
These people are the KINGS of ska.
An unofficial site A site run by the Specials' sound man.
Toasters, The:
2-Tone influenced Ska. Very danceable and listenable...
Voodoo Glow Skulls, The:
Not everyone knows this band, but they should be better known. An outrageous latin punk/ska band from lovely Riverside, CA, VGS pumps out some hard skankin' tunes.
Official Voodoo Glow Skulls SiteUp do date tour info, bio, merch, etc.
A testament to all things that go skank in the night. News, reviews, links, discussion board... Well designed.
A radio show in the Irvine, CA area. They have put out two collections on CD. Look for them at your local used record store, 'cause ya won't find 'em anywhere else. I've got mine. Have you?
Last year a great ska man died. Roland Alphonso of the Skatalites. To read his tribute follow the link on the image below:
