The world of Vlastonos is a simple fantasy world created for GURPS. It is a world of cinematic heroes and heroines fighting for survival in a cruel world against cruel people. The world is in a dark ages from which no memory of the past is recorded. Ancient ruins exist, they are both mighty and rare. They hold secrets from a past age.

The world is small and divided into minor kingdoms. The northern kingdoms are sparse Holdouts of Dwarven clans in the Uplands. These mountains reach so high they cannot be climbed and even the Dwarves do not inhait their peaks. Also in the mountains are foul creatures of all sorts, from human bandit kingdoms, to Orc tribes, to Goblin or Hobgoblin wanderers. They fight with the dwarves for posession of the great dwarven mines. The dwarves practice ancestor worship that uses a teutonic tradition of rituals.

The southern kingdoms are borken into villages and hamlets surrounding twelve small human cities. Each is ruled by a King, with bloodlines going back as far as the last disposition. These lands are known as the lowlands, and are fertile and lush rolling hills and dales. The kingdoms are known as Southdale, Northdale, Brookdale, Riverdale, Highdale, Archerdale, Milldale, Cooperdale, Victordale, Winterdale, Billsdale, and Templetondale. Their names give some indication of their location, trade good, or importance, though more often than not it doesn't. Humans practice pagan religions with shamanic qualities.

Bordering the human lads to the west is a rocky craggy land, both dry and harsh. It is devoid of kingdoms or friendly villages. Foul creatures inhabit it, and traders never venture into its canyons. Giants, Minoutars, Harpy's and Clans of Ogres make this an unfriendly place to venture. These fell beasts and monsters seldom practice rituals but if they do, blood sacrifices can be assured.

To the south is the Great Yenterwood, and its Yeternal Trees. Stories tell of the elves, and their beautiful queens and princesses that rule them. Those stories even contain a human (or dwarf) or two falling in love with them. Folklore would contain more such stories if it were not for the Xcli which inhabit the lower portions of the forest, few have seen them, and fewer have returned to tell the tale. Little to nothing is known of their magic, though it is ritual as well.

Finally to the east is the Spine of Thalgorn. It is an impassible mountain range behind a line of monoliths thirty spans tall high in the foothills. None who enter return from a nights travel. This land is a mystery.

In game terms, this is a GURPS Fantasy game, with GURPS Spirits, GURPS Compendium I & II, GURPS Low Tech, plus GURPS Fantasy Folk, Fantasy Bestiary, Bestiary, Undead, and Y2K. There is no magic, no psionics, and it is early TL 4.
