Issue: #2 - December 1994
Title: Searching
Creative Team: Scott Lobdell (writer), Chris Bachalo (art), Mark Buckingham (inks), Richard Starkings & Comicraft (letters), Steve Buccellato & Electric Crayon (colors).

Summary/Review: Following the semi-first appearance of Penance, it is shown right off that she is literally untouchable by having Banshee being bandaged up due to him simply trying to pick up the girl. She is paced in the medical station and she escapes once awake, which is shocking because the walls were made of some substance that Ms. Frost claims "Wolverine in his prime would have clipped a claw" from cutting it. So they all go out to find the girl. Banshee and Husk catch up to her first, but are stopped short by an ambush from Penance. It is shown in this issue just how intelligent M is by having her piece together the connection between Emplate and Penance.

Quick Thoughts: I thought this was a very interesting way of continuing the establishment of the team. While I said the last issue seemed a little generic in some ways, this one caught my attention more. The entire story, more or less, focuses around the appearance of this one girl. Not a villain, not necessarily a friend just yet, but one that is still very dangerous. I think the overall setting creates a very good feel for what is to come with this team, and the writing and great art doesn't hurt.
