Sonoda drew by far the most Bubblegum Crisis images. Even after he stopped designed characters, he continued to do art for the series. His favorite was apparently Priss as not only did he draw her the most and place her at the front of most of the group images, but it is also an inside joke that Priss' middle initial, "S," stands for Sonoda. He appears to think Priss is his masterpiece, although both Sylia and Linna are more original. Sonoda also based Priss' concert appearance on Pris, a pleasure Replicant from the movie Blade Runner from which BGC took some inspiration. Sonoda's designs outside of the Knight Sabers and Chairman Quincy were typically not very memorable, and in fact the series designs and animation in general improved after he left the project. Sonoda had a sort of nasty habit of copying from his old work and trends come up when one goes through all of his posted BGC works. Almost all those trends, as with much of his art, are based on Priss Asagiri. It's a shame he didn't spend more time on the others than he did. However, Sonoda's designs are part of what keeps BGC so popular. The reason he was glad to have nothing to do with Bubblegum Crash! was because he felt they had bastardized his Hardsuits in the process of redesigning them, which shows that Sonoda had a slightly egotistical streak, although the newer Hardsuits were a little less attractive than the originals, at least as they looked in the videos.
