Tony Takezaki's Illustrations

Tony Takezaki had nothing to do with BGC when it began, but he played a large part in The AD. Police Files and Bubblegum Crash!. His art is not quite as well known as Sonoda's but as a humble opinion, I think he is more talented. His style is more original and his designs also tend to be that way. He uses darker tones both literally and figuratively. His masterpiece is, once again IMHO, his illustration of Sylia Stingray standing before Largo as her Hardsuit explodes off her body. Takezaki, like Sonoda, played favorites in art and often placed Sylia rather than Priss in the front spot. His drawings are Sylia were more expressive than most of Sonoda's were, if only because she seems to be his favorite of the four Knight Sabers. In all honesty I wish he had done the original designs for the series because Takezaki is not only skilled at mecha designs (check out Genocyber and The AD. Police Files for examples), but as stated his art is more original. His themes are also more mature and he excels at using the female body to express any number of emotions with just paint and pencils. Takezaki usually signs his name at the bottom of his art, using English rather than Japanese, and occassionally just writes "Tony."

The following are some of Takezaki's illustrations.
