RULES

TURNS

The first turn should start on Sunday August 30th. After that, you have one week to submit what you do during your first turn. If you choose to wait longer, its more of a disadvantatge to you than it is to me, as you'll be one week behind everyone else.

So what can you do during your turn? Well, you can basically do whatever you want. You can:

-Move your fleet(s) to any neighboring planet.

-Build either buildings, ships or troops.

-Attack an enemy fleet or planet.

To get more information about those things please refer below where I explain them in furter detail.

STARTING OFF

To begin playing GALACTIC STRIFE, please email at [email protected]. Please give me your name, email address, name of your faction, your political alliance and the planet you wish to start off on. To find out more, please continue reading.
When you join GALACTIC STRIFE, you have to decide the name of your faction or group. It can be anything you want, such as "Bob's Crusaders". You also have to decide who you are allied with, either the New Republic of the Empire. This depends mainly on what ships you can build.
Once you have sent me all of that information I will email you back telling you that your faction has been accepted into GALACTIC STRIFE. Once you recieve that letter, you may begin building. Both New Republic and Imperial allied factions start off with 250, 000 credits.

CONSTRUCTION OF BUILDINGS

When you want to construct a building, please refer to the buildings page. Find the building you want to construct on the chart and then see if you have enough money to build it. Then, choose the planet you want to build it on and you are done.

CONSTRUCTION OF TROOPS AND SHIPS

You may train ground troops on any planet you occupy. However, you must have enough food to support them. Each unit takes a certain amount of food. To find out which buildings these are, please consult the buildings. No special buildings are required to train troops. When you want to train a soldier, please refer to the ground forces page to find out how much they cost. As for ships, you need dry docks. Dry docks may only be constructed in orbit of planets that you control. If you want to build a ship, please consult the ships page, find the ship you want to construct on the chart, see how much it costs and then buy it. Just a note about starfighters, when you buy one, you actually buy a squadron (12) of them (which is why they cost so much).

RESOURCES

As mentioned earlier, when you begin playing GALACTIC STRIFE, you start off with 250,000 credits. However, as you advance farther and take over more planets, you will need more credits. To get more credits, you must purchase certain buildings, such as Cantinas, gas mines and so on.
Another thing that was mentioned earlier was the rule regarding food. Each unit you produce takes up a certain amount of food, and so you need to build certain buildings to provide it for them.
Also, another rule that was added was the morale rule. Every unit you produce requires a certian amount of morale. If you do not meet this number, they perform poorly in combat.
Please refer to the buildings page to find out which buildings provide you with which resources.

MOVEMENT

You may move however many ships you would like in one turn. However, there are a few stipulations. First of all, all starfighter ships can only move when accompanied by a capital ship. Also, you may only move one "hex" (one rectangle), on the star chart. For example, if you are on Tatooine and you want to move you fleet, you could move it to Kessel or Calamari(diagonals count). Also, the black voids count as one space, so you can move through them in one turn. Another thing about travelling is that if you wish, you can jump to "hyperspace", that is you can travel through enemy occupied systems without being seen. (NOTE: Vessels in hyperspace can be spotted on a scan).
If you want, you may put ships together in a fleet. This means that they always travel together unless otherwise specified. Moving in fleets is usually a lot easier because you can say "I move my 5th fleet to Tatooine", rather than having to type in all of the ships you want to move.

BATTLES

For you, the player, battles are fairly simple. Merely email me (as part of your turn) which ships you attack with, where you attack and how you attack (strategy). I will calculate the battle and email you back with the results. On the other hand, if you are the one that gets attacked, I will email you informing you of the attack. You will then return my email with your defensive strategies.
However, just do give you some ideas of goes on I'll explain a bit of it to you. When you visit the ships or the ground forces page, you will see that beside each unit, there is a number. The first number represents their damage at short-range, the second at medium-range and then the third at long-range. The number after that is thier defense, the higher the number the better the defense. Also, multiply starfighters' and ground soldiers defenses by 5, and capital ships' by 10 and that is there real defense. Therefore an Imperial Star Destroyer has a whopping 500 defense points!
Also, when you want to invade a planet using ground forces, you must load your forces into a capital ship and drop them off. Just for the sake of keeping the game relativly simple, an infinite amount of ground forces can fit into one capital ship, regardless of size. However, if the ship is destroyed in transport, all the units aboard are lost.

SCANNING

If you wish, you may decide to "scan" a certain area of space if you wish. You can scan any "hex" you wish, and you'll get all of the information including how many ships there are, what buildings are there and so on.
You perform a scan by telling me where you want it to be, and I will email you back telling you what you can see. This is extremely useful when trying to anticipate enemy movements.

OCCUPYING A PLANET

To occupy a planet, you have to be the only faction around that planet. If there are enemy vessels in the same "hex", the planet is considered neutral (unless already occupied). When a planet is conquered from an enemy faction, all buildings are destroyed (basically, you don't get the enemy's buildings).
