WHO MOURNS FOR MORN?

True to form, Quark sees an opportunity for profit and throws a memorial party at his bar. Sisko interrupts with surprising news -- Morn has left Quark his entire estate. Although Morn's financial records indicate that he was broke, Quark searches Morn's quarters for hidden assets. Instead, he finds Morn's ex-wife, Larell, who tells Quark about Morn's hidden retirement fund of a thousand bricks of latinum.

Morn, having been caught in an ion storm, is believed to be killed. True to form, Quark sees an opportunity for profit and throws a memorial party at his bar. Sisko interrupts with surprising news -- Morn has left all of his belongings to Quark. Quark and Odo inspect Morn's belonging including his cargo. Odo and Quark go into Morn's quarters, and see nothing, except for a painting and a mud bath. First he is met by Larell, Morn's ex-wife. She mentions something about Morn's retirement fund, a total of one thousand bricks of gold-pressed latinum. They agree to split it. Later, Quark is confronted by two brothers, Nahsk and Krit, former business associates of Morn. They claim Morn owed them money and demand a share of the 1000 bricks of latinum, starting at 90%. Quark haggles with them, and agrees at 50%. As a parting gift, Quark offers them the painting, but they smash the painting over Quark's head. In the painting, Quark finds a claim ticket to a security locker in the station assay office.

In the security locker, Quark finds one brick of gold-pressed latinum. On the back is Morn's signature, and an account number to a bank on Bolarus IX. On his way to claim the money, Quark is met by Larell, who steals the bar of latinum with the account number. Luckily, Quark has memorized the account number, and races to his quarters to withdraw the money. On the way, Quark is met again with Nahsk and Krit, who remind Quark of his debt to them, and they apologize for smashing the painting.

In his quarters is a man named Hain, who claims that Morn is a prince, and the latinum is royal family's money. He insists that he lays low for a while, and act as if nothing has happened. One night, they all come to Quark's quarters to remind him of his obligations, and it turns out they all know each other.

These four, and Morn, raided a bank to get the money, and at the last second, Morn ran off with the money, and has been storing it ever since. Quark persuades them not to kill him because he's the only one who can get the money. Then he persuades them to "pretend he's Morn," and split the money in five. Everyone thinks that all the others agree, and all but Quark plan to ambush each other and kill them, and take all the money. They almost succeed, with Quark right about to die when Odo and security shows up and saves the day. Quark gets the fortune but there's no latinum in it! Just plain, old gold.

Morn then comes back, and they find out that the latinum is stored in Morn's second stomach. They then start planning to sell all this regular gold to some unknowing civilization...
