The Son's past is as dark as his twisted desire to feed off the blood of others. Thanks to his mysterious past he has many special abilities. . .or perhaps they could better be described as a curse! When "the hunger" begins to consume Morbius he transforms into a vampire-like creature. His fangs, and razor sharp claws combined with enhanced strength and senses make him a powerful predator. It is this state of mind that Morbius fears and he eagerly consumes other forms of energy other than humans. The guilt of perhaps killing someone haunts him daily. Such a way of life only helps drive a wedge between Morbius, the pseudo-vampire, and the ones who would love him.
Morbius has allowed himself to stay with the vodun community in Downtown, becoming fast friends with the Vodun Priestess, Le'Osha. She acts as a motherly figure for him, and he has proclaimed himself the protector of Downtown.
When a man with the same characteristics and bloodlust as Morbius arrived in Downtown and began feeding on the Fenris, Thor sought out the demon. It wasn't long before he came across Morbius and assumed that this was the one who had been murdering his people. The two battled until Le'Osha finally managed to stop them....and force them to think logically. The two set out to hunt down the real murder, who turned out to be the Dealer, who the Fenris had dubbed the "Angel of Death." The two managed to defeat the Angel, but not before letting the devilish pseudo-vampire taste both of their blood, leaving a new desire for the blood of a god, and the taste of a fellow pseudo-vampire.
Thor and Morbius parted as friends and allies, as the Son looked up to the Mighty Thor. The two will defintely be there for one another, if such a need were to arise.
