Meanwhile Quinn and Rashel, Ebony and Sapphira, were busy searching Hunter's office for any proof he had of the existence of Circle Daybreak. There were papers and folders all over the floor. They had just thrown anything of no importance to them on the floor. "Here!" It was Rashel who had shouted. The other three went over to see what had caught her attention. "Printed copies of letters between Circle Daybreak members, Night World witnesses- people who say they have joined the Circle to observe- look here is a list of their names!"
     "If these are accurate then we have to have a copy. These people are dangerous to our cause and we must make sure they do not spy any longer! We must also find the computer files these came from and destroy them! If we don't then Hunter will still have enough evidence to cripple us!" Sapphira's words were taken to heart and they began to search the computer for anything that was dangerous to Circle Daybreak.
     "Look at this! A complete list of the members of Circle Daybreak! There aren't many he got wrong by the looks of this! All the other files seem to be encoded, damn! We were so close!" It was Rashel who said this, banging on the desk for emphasis.
     "I know how to crack Hunter's codes. My parents own a massive chain of computer stores, I can hack anything!" Ebony smiled at their reactions, he came in useful for something!
     Ebony was working tirelessly as Hunter entered the room. The others were hunched around him and they did not see him enter. It was Rashel who spun round first, her instincts as sensitive as a cat's. "You!" Her voice spat venom at Hunter. This man had killed her mother and turned her friend into a Vampire, she had every reason to despise him.
     "I'm pleased to see you remember me, my dear. I thought you might have grown forgetful in the company of Circle Daybreak."
     "It's too late Hunter, I have deleted all your files. There is no way now that you can bring Circle Daybreak down. You might as well face it, you've lost!" Now Ebony spoke, turning to face his old master as he did.
     "O contraire, my young prot�g�, I have won! Do you think I wouldn't back up my files? I have enough prove to bring Circle Daybreak to its death, and all of you along side it!"
     "Hunter you sound like a villain out of a James Bond film! Take a hike and just admit that you have lost. Actually, you sound more like Emperor Palpatine from Star Wars. Does that make Ebony Luke Skywalker?" Sapphira said, her voice was dripping with sarcasm and her manner was confident and annoyed.
     Hunter laughed, "If he's Luke Skywalker, then does that make you Princess Leia?"
     "Leia was Luke's sister, stupid, that would be incest! If I was Leia, Ebony would have to be Han Solo!"
     "I cannot believe you are having a Star Wars argument at this moment in time!" It was Quinn who spoke. He was surprised at the fact that Sapphira had just been arguing a minor point about a film while they were in serious trouble. At that moment, Ebony winked at Sapphira and she rushed Hunter.
     Unfortunately, she wasn't as fast as Hunter and he grabbed her by the throat and lifted her up into the air. Ebony cried and tried to rush Hunter, but the other held him back. "No!" He screamed.
     "What's wrong Ebony? Afraid I'll hurt your precious soulmate?" Hunter asked his voice dripping with sarcasm. "Well isn't that touching. You make me sick! I had thought you stronger than the others like these here." He said gesturing at Quinn. "I was wrong. All you young ones are weak, pathetic and hopeless and so is your Circle Daybreak."
     Ebony made a move to get closer to Hunter, but he just tightened his grip on Sapphira's throat. "Don't try anything or she dies. Of course you realise that she's dead anyway and so are you. None of you can defeat me, you're all weak!"
     While he spoke Rashel had managed to sneak up behind using all her expertise as a Vampire hunter. She held her stake, which had been wiped clean off all the other Vampire's blood, up and with all her strangth pushed it into Hunter's shoulder. He dropped Sapphira immediately as he had been holding her up with the same hand.
     "Come on, let's go!" was Quinn's shout.
     "Wait, I want to finish him off, once and for all!" Was Rashel's reply.
     "He's already recovering, Rashel. I have to get Sapphira to safety. Quinn make her come with us, please!"
     "Okay. Let's go." All four of them rushed down the stairs, with Ebony supporting Sapphira, and out of that place. They hoped they would have enough time to get to Thierry's, before Hunter recovered enough to catch them up.

     Thierry was very relieved to see them all there when he returned from the Night World meeting. There had been no presentation by Hunter, but that hadn't meant they were safe, only that he had not done it yet. Hannah and a young girl with dark brown hair and Sapphire blue eyes were deep in conversation. He did not recognise her. Her hair was wet and she was wearing some clothes borrowed off Hannah. He smiled at everyone. "Hi, I take it all went well tonight. Who are these?"
     Hannah stood and came over to her soulmate. She kissed him gently then explained, "This is Sapphira Rosewood" She pointed to the girl she had been talking to, "And these are John Redwing and Cassie Thrushton respectively."
     Thierry smiled at them, pleased they had come to no harm and were safe among the Daybreakers where they belonged. He gave a special smile to Cassie, he had rescued her from Night World law, as half-Human she would have been killed had he not intervened.
     "I am glad to have you all back with us." He then looked at Ebony who was sitting by his soulmate, his arm linked in hers. "I also welcome a new member of ours, Ebony Blackthorn. There's no getting away now, you're part of the Circle for life!" Ebony smiled at Sapphira, then at those around him, he did not seem to mind being a part of all this.
     "I found out something very peculiar. Sapphira and I have already met. She was a priestess of Bastet or Bast in my second life."
     "How is that possible? She is a Witch and Night Worlders' souls do not travel."
     "I wasn't a Witch in my other lives. I was a human. No wonder I always felt drawn to humans and have never hated them!" Sapphira answered smiling.
     "Well that is another matter, I suppose. Now who wants a party? With all this worrying, none of us has had a chance to celebrate Samhain properly!"
     Thierry's proposal was met with a resounding cheer. Everyone was happy now that the crisis had passed, although they did not know if Hunter had actually had a second copy or not. Only time would tell that now. Anyway, this was a time for celebration, not for worrying!

     Only one thing remains in my tale, I have not said what became of Krystina. The last we heard of her she had been knocked out by a sleeping potion mixed by Thea and the other Witches. She woke up the day after Samhain feeling very light-headed, and very hungry! Sapphira told her that she could not explain what had happened to her just yet, but she promised that should Krystina ever find her soulmate, then she would tell her the whole truth. Krystina was puzzled by what had gone on but did not ask. She trusted Sapphira and knew that she would tell her in her own time. Until then Krystina was satisfied to wait, some part of her told her that she would not have to wait for too long, her soulmate was drawing nearer!
