The Dawn

Life spent lfeless and asleep

Till deep inside the need to be awoke

Hurt untangled and surprised me

That living brought such pain

Yet striving ever closer to the light

I found the dross that had gathered round me, alseep

Was stripping back and falling away

And I saw more the brilliant fever of the day.

Awake alive and loving every sod of dirt

The pain, the joy the light all mingled as one.
