The quantum bands are a set of energy-manipulating devices originally discovered by the Eternal
settlers of Uranus in a weapons depot left by the alien Kree. It is not kn0own if the bands are
of Kree construction, but they do bear a resemblance to the Kree Uni-Beam weapon. Each of the two
wrist-bands is a 3 inch wide bracelet of an unknown black metal studded with 7 smooth golden of
an unknown composition. The gems on the wrist-bands were theorized by Earth scientist Gilbert
Vaughn to be conduits through which identifiable energy sources such as the sun or stars could be
tapped. Vaughn also believed that he had adjusted them to tap the energy of quasi-stellar radio
sources (quasars), from which his son Wendell derived his code name. Vaughn latter abandoned that
therory in favor of the idea that the bands open anextradimensional aperature into a realm of
unknown subatomic particles. The wrist-bands, which become grafted in some unknown way to
user's wrists, are responsive to the wearer's mental commands. The quantum bands can be used to
creat a variety of visible energy phenomena and to fly. The wrist-bands can create "solid" energy
constructs. These constructs, once formed, are able to absorb a high degree of inertia directed at
them and shunt it extradimensionally. The quantum bands can also project beams of concussive force
at sufficient intensity to penetrate 6 inch concrete. The quantum bands do not generate heat. When
the wearer uses the bands to fly, they surround themselves with an energy nimbus which manipulates
gavitons. The maximum rate of speed that can be attained with the quantum bands is still unknown.
Though Quasar has been clocked in Earth's upper atmosphere at Mach 2.
