When the bug war started, I had already been honorable discharged and was hoping to settle down nice and easy. But as fate would have it, I would have no such luck. My recall order was sent out as soon as the Fed determined that the bugs were hostile. I was still young and able bodied, so there was no excuse for me not to return to MI's armfold. Now, mixed in with this batch of fresh brewed recruits, I remember the day I became a real trooper. It shocked me to know that it was only a few years back.
