Captain America #10 - With this issue came the realization that I've been really collecting comics for two years.  I started (I'm not ashamed to say it) with the Heroes Reborn storyline over at Marvel, which lasted thirteen issues, then a month of Heroes Return, and now, ten issues later on Captain America = Two years even.  I'm still a DC man, even if the beginning was over at Marvel.  But now onto the review:  People who have been champions of the American Dream are going crazy, but Cap doesn't have time for that, he's trying to save two people from the charging Rhino.  He goes to S.H.I.E.L.D. to see if he can help, as he's been feeling these urges.  In the end he lets go and sucumbs to the dark feelings, and the results aren't pretty.

Green Lantern Annual #7 - While I don't take all those bad things about the DC Annuals that I've said, I do have to say that this was a GREAT story.  Kyle is still troubled about how to leave behind the memory of Alex (you know, his girlfriend that became lunchmeat...), when he meets up with a being in a Green Lantern uniform.  He automatically thinks it's Hal, but it turns out to be Abin Sur, the GL who gave Hal his ring.  Abin sends Kyle on a mission to explore an anomaly, after explaining why he's not dead...  Anyway, Kyle meets up with a whole mess of dead Green Lanterns that start attacking him, but it turns out that they are being controlled by a more powerful force.  Kyle manages to put the souls of the GLs to rest, and also puts his feelings about Alex to rest.

JLA #23 - I was actually quite dissapointed with this storyline, which isn't to say that it's a bad set of issues.  I just thought that more could be done with an issue involving the lord of the Dreaming.  It is really good to see the teamwork building and also some tension building between members of the ever-growing ranks of the worlds greatest super-heroes.  With as many people in the group as there currently are, it's not a surprise that there will be some that don't get along with others.  Still a great series, but it just doesn't seem like it's got the magic it did a couple years ago.

Martian Manhunter Annual #1 - Another annual that defies the rule of the concept annual.  J'onn, in his private detective guise, investigates the murder of a woman that was dead when she entered his office.  In the process he sees his wife and child again, saves America from Civil War, and accidentally shows his secret identity to his partner.  Great characterization of the character in story that was only slightly worse than the GL annual.  I'm hoping that the JLA annual can keep up the quality.

Oni Double Feature #8 - I'm just going to have to go back and read the last two parts of this all in order again to really get it, but the Neil Gaimen story was quite good, and very enjoyable.  However, given the overall quality of the other stories in the issues I've picked up, I don't think I'll be reading this on a regular basis.  The backup story in this issue involves a guys toes revolting against him and the debate amongst themselves, and end up in a stalemate.  Although it had some good stuff, it really wasn't that good, and none of the stories so far has been good enough to warrent picking up more than I have already.

Thunderbolts #19 - It's really interesting seeing the teams ups and downs as played out in the last few issues.  They feel good when they are heroes, but think about going back to their lives as villains when it doesn't seem to be doing any good.  This issue has them nearly dispatch a really nasty bad guy, only to have the glory of victory snatched away from them by the Masters of Evil, who have offered our heroes jobs and cushy salaries as villains.  Will the Thunderbolts take the job?  I guess we'll find out soon enough...

Well, that's it.  I don't think I got too editorial or preachy this time around.  I felt I got a lot of good comic reading for my buck this week, which is better than I can say for last week.
