Daredevil #1 - Starting new under the banner of Marvel Knights, this book is written by the great Kevin Smith (writer/director of Clerks, Mallrats and Chasing Amy).  I picked it up on a whim and was quite impressed.  Even though I don't know the characters all that well (I've really only read the origin tale by Frank Miller) I found a lot of really good stuff in this issue.  Matt Murdock facing a crisis of faith at the same time an apparent savior is born.  Good little issue and I'm tempted to pick up more in the future.

DC 1,000,000 #2 - Much better than the first, which is saying a lot, since the first had me quite intrigued.  This issue starts to deal with the "Hourman Virus" that infected humanity last issue, and how the heroes are dealing with it (I especially liked the Atom entering the bloodstream of Oracle, nice scene).  A couple items of note, Garth is dead.  Aquaman's old sidekick died in a nuclear inferno, and some of the rest of the old Teen Titans are looking to share that fate.  An interesting conundrum that will probably not be answered until December, but the linear men note that Superman is alive in the 853rd century, but supposedly killed in the 21st century by Gog.  Perhaps a return to DC's "multiverse?"  Good issue, and so far it's considerably better than last year's horrid crossover, Genisis.

Green Arrow #1,000,000 - Apparently, Oliver Queen's descendants will become the guardians of Earth's forests (which is most of Earth) in the 853rd century.  This means that Oliver has to come back in order to have more children (it's said outright that these guys descend from not only Connor, but also from his "brothers and sisters").  This story wasn't really much, but it had some good elements for those long term Green Arrow fans.

JLA Year One #11 - Superman down, Batman down, the JSA down, EVERYONE DOWN!!!  Who's gonna save earth from the Apellaxian alien invaders?  The Justice League, that's who.  The files that J'onn took on practically every meta-human around made it easy for the invaders to make use of their weaknesses.  The Justice League, however, didn't have files, and were the only ones left standing.  Using trickery and disguise, they manage to infiltrate the meta-human holding facility and save the day.  The last page is great, let me tell you.

Starman #1,000,000 - The Starman of the 853rd century meets up with the original Starman, Ted Knight.  We find out a LOT about the Starman legacy for the next 83,000 years, and find out that the current Starman, Jack Knight is less than a footnote in history, and that Ted's name is revered amongst such greats as Einstein and Newton, but not for his role as Starman.  We also learn why the future Starman turned traitor against the JLA and the Justice Legion (would you believe... meeting babes without the responsiblity of heroing?).  Good little issue.  The more I read of Starman here and there, the more I like it.

That's it for this week.  A lot of the stories were a bit short on plot this time around, so the reviews have to be a bit short too, so as not to give much away.  Either that, or the stories are a bit too intricate that almost anything would be giving away too much.  Sorry!!!
