culture of Iotia has been contaminated from the terrestrial one before
he enters vigor the Prime Directive: the Iotians have modeled their society
on a book on the gangsters, "Chicago Mobs of the Twenties", accidently
left by the USS Horizon a century before stellar date 4598.0. The
consequence has been the developement of an aberrant social based structure
on criminal similar elements to those of America (Earth) of the beginning
of the 20th century. Though this contamination has carried to the
planetary unification, the consequences have been an extreme poverty and
a needless shedding of blood. From the intervention of the Enterprise
in date 4598, the sociological teams of the Federation have driven the
Iotians in the direction of a form of more ethical government. |
