You enter the market.
The market is a wonder of sounds, smells, and colours, and is absolutely crowded full
of people. The whole place is a maze of vendors and their stands, all selling
various objects of value. Many are selling fruit and vegetables, others are selling
textiles of various colours and styles, and some claim to be able to tell you your
past lives. You are reminded of something you read in a book once, or saw
in a movie. You put your hand in your pocket to find you have a handful of
coins, surprisingly. Suddenly filled with the urge to haggle and spend, you approach
a fruit stand. The old man behind it smiles at you.
"I have many deals today. But just because I like you, I'll let you have
two melons for the price of one."
You were just about to jump on the offer, when you decide you don't really
want a melon. Or two, for that matter. "Actually, I was wondering if I could
have one of those," you say, pointing at a pile of small, round, red fruit.
The old man smiles again. "Those are very sweet this time of year. How many will you like?"
That depends on how much they are, you think. "I'll just have one, thanks."
"Two copper coins, please," the old man replies.
You hand him the money, pick up the biggest one you could see, smile, and walk away.
What to do now?
Continue walking in the market?
Have a fortune teller give you a reading?
Do some reading for yourself?
Sit inside the tavern for a while?
Leave?
