The Mission
SeaQuest's short-term mission is to enforce the volatile new peace
among undersea colonies and vessels and to protect them; to lend
immediate aid and assistance to all sub-surface inhabitants; execute
rescue operations in dire distress; and broaden the scope of deep-sea
exploration and discovery with her advanced technologies and resources
on board. Her long-term mission is to lead the way as mankind moves
away from aggression aimed at his fellow man; assist man in becoming
the Earth's cultivator . . . not her spoiler; take mankind far beyond all
previous limits in exploration and discovery of the most dangerous and
mysterious region on earth; and transport man as he searches for
answers to his own beginnings . . . to his purpose . . . and to his future!

seaQuest DSV (Deep Submergence Vehicle) premiered in September 12, 1993 on NBC
as a science-fiction, action adventure, and drama series. Then in November
1995, the show was canceled before the third season was ever completed. Each
season of seaQuest, however had different themes and altered cast:

Season 1:

This season was considered to be more "science-based." It took place in the year
2018, and many episodes focused mainly on science, and episodes throughout had
accuracy to modern day science.

Season 2:

With a mostly new cast, the second season mainly had a theme of "science-fantasy."
This season takes place in 2021, two years after the first ended in 2019, and many
episodes were based on pure fantasy such as sea monsters, aliens, and other things.
A program got started because of the progress of this season to protest against the
changes in this season and to change seaQuest back to the theme and quality of the
first season.

Season 3:

With another change in cast (including a new captain), a new theme of "traditional
science-fiction," this series took of with a new name, from seaQuest DSV to seaQuest
2032. It took place in 2032 (thus its name), 10 years after the second season ended
in 2022, and had many episodes based on the UEO (International organization similar
to the UN) at the brink of war with the Macronesians.
