Plot

The Enterprise travels to the idyllic world of Rubicam 3, home to a race of people known as the Edo, for shore leave. Wesley falls afoul of their justice system which demands that anyone who commits a crime be executed immediately. Picard must then choose between Wesley and obeying the Prime Directive. To complicate matters, a strange alien presence surrounds the world and is worshipped by the Edo as a God. It has unlimited power and does not want Picard interfering with the Edo's laws.

Quotes

LaForge: "They make love at the drop of a hat."
Yar: "Any hat."

Worf: "Nice planet."

Rivan: "Shall we go there now or remain and play?"
Riker: "Play?"
Rivan: "At love. Unless you don't enjoy that."

Edo Girl: "I want to do something too, with you."
Wesley: "Uh, what?"
Edo Girl: "It's something you can teach me. Will you?"
Wesley: "Uh, well, actually, there are some games I don't quite know yet."

Worf: "I am not concerned with pleasure, Commander. I am a warrior."
Riker: "Even Klingons need love now and then."
Worf: "For what we would consider love, sir, I would need a Klingon woman."
Riker: "What about plain old basic sex? You must have some need for that."
Worf: "Of course, but with the females available to me, sir, Earth females, I must restrain myself too much. They are quite fragile, sir."
Riker: "Worf, if anyone else had said that, I'd suspect he was bragging."
Worf: "Bragging, sir?"

Troi: "Sharing an orbit with a god is no small experience."

Data: "Would you choose one life over a thousand?"
Picard: "I refuse to let arithmetic decide questions like that."

Picard: "There can be no justice so long as laws are absolute. Even life itself is an exercise in exceptions."
Riker: "When has justice been as simple as a rulebook?"
