Plot

One of the strangest episodes. The Enterprise finds debris from an old NASA ship orbiting a planet in an unmapped system. On the planet is apparently one single building which the away team discovers is modeled after the Hotel Royale from an old Earth novel.

Goofs

  • The surface temperature of the planet is less than absolute zero by six degrees Celsius.
  • Also, after they beam the piece of the ship out of orbit, O'Brien and Riker pick it up with their bare hands (coming from space, it should have been close to zero Kelvin itself).
  • Plus, after beaming down, they then scan the atmosphere to see if it's safe to breathe.

Quotes

Riker: "Looks like the poor guy died in his sleeps."
Worf: "What a horrible way to die."

Pulaski: "I'm a doctor, not a magician."

Mickey D.: "No woman is worth dying for. Killing for, but not dying for."

Data: "Baby needs a new pair of shoes."
