Plot
Professor Moriarity, a holodeck creation imbued with self-awareness and
last seen in "ELEMENTARY, DEAR DATA" returns to plague Picard and the crew
of the Enterprise. While playing in a Holmes adventure on the holodeck,
Moriarity manages to gain control of the adventure and the ship and lures
Picard, Data, and Barclay into his world and demands they give him entrance
to theirs. Picard don't think it's possible and tries to prove it to
Moriarity but gets quite a surprise when the professor actually leaves the
Holodeck, and begins to wander around in the real world, he then aquires
control of the Enterprise and demands that they bring his lover into the
real world too. But when making an atempt with the transporter, Data
suddenly discovers that they are actually not in the real world, but just on
the holodeck. And Moriarity simply left a holodeck on the holodeck,
unfortunely Picard has just tried out his securitycodes now leaving them in
the hands of the professor.

Goofs
- When Picard walks into the holodeck he is wearing his open coat with the
blue shirt, but he walks out wearing his one-piece red shirt. Either he
changed his uniform inside the holo-deck and is wearing a holo-shirt (in
which case his uniform top should have disappeared when he steps out of
the holo-deck at the end of the episode) or they screwed up again! :-)
- Also, when they cut to a commercial break at the end of the scene where
Moriarty tells Picard he has taken over the ship, Picard begins to say
something as the screen fades. It's close to the end of the first half of
the episode.
- Finally, it appears that the command "Computer, Freeze Program" doesn't
stop flames in a fireplace from flickering, or a clock from ticking....
