Ensign Gomez is big puzzle, she was introduced in "Q-Who ?", just as you
would expect a new main character show up. This episode folowed her nicely
and showed her first encounter with the food-slot, with the captain and the
atraction between her and Geordi. In "Samaritan Snare" we saw her in a more
profesional look, taking care of engenering with Geordi gone. But she has
never been seen again, my guess is that she was intended for a regular on
the show, and maybe even a wife for Geordi, but was found to leight for the
writers. The same can be seen with Christie Henshaw, who was also introduced
as Geordi's girlfriend, just to be gone later on.
Anyway, in the short time she was seen, she appeared to know a lot about
the engeneering section, always ready to help Geordi in tight situations,
she also turned out to talk very much, knowing very well that it was her
problem, but when she stoped herselve from using a 1000 words where 5 would
do, she usualy ended up talking even more to explain her problem. She also
showed that she could be a bit thoughtless and clumsy in "Q-Who ?", her
first meeting with Picard was not a success when she droped her drink all
over him. But strangely enough, all of these problems had disapered in the
second show, in that we only saw her as an efficient ensign..
