Metalpixies
This image is one of my personal favorites. It came about in an interesting way, using a screen saver and the wonderful Macintosh CMD-SHIFT-3(for those of you PC users out there, that is the screen capture command). Anyway, I was using this screen saver called Kaos, and I was wondering what it would look like to extrude it and then map the original image over it. So I did...I captured the screen, used Photoshop to save a copy as greyscale, and then imported it into Bryce. I extruded the terrain and mapped the original picture over it and what came out is that "growth" in the foreground. It was cool, but the image needed more, so I added an infinity plane of sheet metal and a sky of sheet metal, the sphere, and some fog. I was sitting at my computer wondering what to call this image, and my friend said, totally at random, "Metalpixies." The name stuck.
