Declaration Class Starliner

In the early 20th century, the Terrans went through a boom in naval vessel building. But, ironically, it wasn't warships that were at the forefront of this technological boom, but civilian cruiseliners. At the time, a number of citizens from the European Commonwealth were trying to immigrate to the United States of America, and as flying vehicles were not widely used in those times, except as scouts in wartime, cruise liners were the main vehicles of transportation. The boom resulted in a race between the major cruise liner manufacturers of the time, resulting in such ships as the ill fated Titanic, which was not only larger than any other cruise ship of the time, but also larger than any warship in the world.
During the early 21st century, a similar boom in immigration to other lands came about as new planets were discovered and colonized. This resulted in the need for more and more cruise liners and colonial transport ships. One such liner was the S.S. Enterprise, of the Declaration class.
The Declaration class was one of the most advanced starships of its time, even outclassing some of the military ships of the time. With a maximum range of 110 light years, over a time of 2.5 years, the Declaration could transport a number of passengers just about anywhere in explored space. Of course, as they were unarmed spaceliners, these ships were mostly used for the common routes, such as Earth to Alpha Centauri, Vulcan, or Andor. And with its luxurious staterooms and immense recreational facilities, it was a very popular cruise ship to fly on.
