The Doctor is enjoying the sun on a holiday island - but things are soon hoter than he bargained for. The young American Perpugilliam Brown brings to the TARDIS a mysterious object that her archaeologist step-father has found in a sunken wreck. Kamelion, the Doctor's robot friend of a thousnad disguises, reacts to the object totally unexpectedly, with bewildering consequences for the TARDIS crew. For Kamelion sends the Doctor and his friends to Sarn, a terrifyingly
beautiful planet of fire. This strange world provides the key to Turlough's
secret past - and once again the Doctor is pitted against the wily Master.

by Peter Grimwade A strange sgnal from Earth draws the TARDIS to the island of Lanzarotte. While the Doctor tries to track the source of the signal, his companion rescues a young American girl, Peri, from drowning. She is holding an artefact made from platinum bearing a strange symbol - the same symbol that Turlough himself carries on his arm, branded into the flesh... It is the artefacethat is emiting the signal, leading them all to the planet Sarn, a world ravaged by volcanoes and yet holding the secret of eternal life But an old foe of the Doctor's is desperate for this elixir, and will stop at noting to gain it. What is Turlough's link to the artefact? What is the nature of Sarn's mythological god, Logar, and how is it linked to the ruined spaceship crashed on the mountainside? As age-old systems of belief begin to break down, will anyone escape from the planet of fire with their life? This exciting story saw Doctor Who swap clay pits and quarries for the breathtaking scenery of Lanzarotte, as well as introducing Peri, played by Nicola Bryant. Produced by John Nathan-Turner
