Where in NY is Fosters Meadows?
Some sources say the name is/was/alternatively-is "Goetneau" (or perhaps it was her name from a previous marriage), though the same sources also claim Margaret was the daughter of John Gritman & Elizabeth Fowler, and that John was the son of Abigail Spragg, Edward's sister, & Thomas Gritman, that Thomas being the son of William Gritman [Jr.] & Margart Hendrickson, William Gritman [Jr.] being the son of William Gritman & Margaret Johnson. However, that would mean Edward married his younger sister's granddaughter (!) so something is suspicious with these sources. Interestingly Margaret Hendrickson is listed as dau. of Margaret Southard, dau. of Thomas Southard & Annica Van Salee. A Variation on this (without any proof shown) is that Margaret Gritman was a daughter of William Gritman & Margaret Johnson. Scroll down to "Version 2" to see this proposed line.
It is also worth noting that in the Valentine Sprague bible, Margaret Gritman is the wife, not of Edward Spragg (1696-1785) but rather his great grandfather Edward Spragg (1616-1687). Perhaps there was more than one Margaret Gritman - Edward Spragg marriages?

Born 1694 in Fosters Meadows, New York. Died 1780 in Hempstead Town, New York. Married Edward Spragg.

married Margaret Hendrickson (daughter of Harmon Hendrickson & Margaret Southard, thus granddaughter of Thomas Southard & Annica Van Salee my 9th Great Grandparents)
One website I've seen on the 'net names her Margaret Hendricks Pieters and her father as Pieter Hendrickson, apparently in some sort of attempt to forcebly merge the two versions.
