Born c. 20 Dec. 1584 in Etton, Yorkshire, England. Died 8 Nov 1653 in Barnstable Village, Massachusetts Bay Colony. Married 10 Oct 1610 in Eastwell, Kent, England to Hannah Howes (she died 1632/3 in London, England)

My 11th Great Grandfather, Samuel Lothrop
Born Feb 1622/3 in England. Died 20 Feb. 1699/1700 in Norwich, Connecticut Colony. Married 1st 28 Nov. 1644 in Barnstable Village, Massachusetts Bay Colony to Elizabeth Scudder (who was born 31 Jul 1625 in England & died 1 Mar 1699/1700, dau. of John Scudder & Elizabeth Stoughton who were m. 28 Nov. 1644 in Barnstable, MA). Married 2nd in 1690 to Abigail Doane.
A Mrs. Wm. Rogers of Lincoln in the Nebraska and Midwest Genealogical Record, Lincoln, Nebr. July, 1924, Vol. 2, No. ?, Pg. 139, writes of the Scudder/Lathrop:
John Scudder, Barnstable 1640, bore arms 1643, had a sister Elizabeth, discharged from Boston church Nov. 10, 1644, with recommendations, and married 28 of same mouth Samuel Lathrop, son of Rev. John, at his father's home in New London. Ref: Savage's Gen. Dict. of N. E. vol. 4, page 43. It has been asserted that the Elizabeth who married Samuel Lathrop was the widow of Henry Bartholmew, but the references given show that this was impossible. Samuel Lathrop married 2nd at Plymouth, Abigail, daughter of Deacon John Doane, born 1632, died 1734. Children all by first wife. But no other info lists Samuel's father as a Reverend living in New London, and besides, New London was not founded until 1646 (and then was known as Pequot until 1658).

Born Oct. 1655 in Norwich, CT (Problematic: Norwich wasn't settled until 1659). Died 11 Nov. 1706 in Wallingford, New Haven Co., Connecticut Colony. Married 21 Apr 1681 in Wallingford, Connecticut Colony to Nathaniel Royce.
