Black Lady is actually Chibi Usa. Transformed by Wise Man and brainwashed to believe that no one loves her, Chibi Usa takes on the form of Black Lady and fights the Sailor Scouts with no regard for her own life. Her mind is filled with false memories that keep her from seeing how much everyone really cares about her. On one occasion Sailor Moon reveals the truth of one of her memories and almost wins back Chibi Usa, but Wise Man is quick to snatch the confused girl away from Sailor Moon and brainwashes her once again. In the end, it takes the combined effort of the scouts, Sailor Moon and Tuxedo Kamen to help Black Lady realize the truth about her past and to change her back into Chibi Usa.
