So What Happened?

The party started when Darkclaw turned up at about 2pm and got Kone to help him carry his PC stuff across the road from his sister's house. In a matter of seconds a three person network was up and running (Kone and Dark Elf being resident networkers). The next few hours were spent tweaking the network and moaning at Darkclaw for forgetting his network cable. At about 7pm Savoury turned up and all three of us had to help him bring his stuff up in the lift. He had brought along his 4-head VCR (which he's very proud of) so that we could watch 'Hard Boiled' without his video getting chewed. After evicting Darkclaw from the 'coders chair' Savoury was soon set up and the games began.

The game we were all itching to get playing was of course X-Wing Vs Tie Fighter so without choosing teams we jumped into a battle except Dark Elf who was busy sorting out his hard drive. Unfortunatly Kone's PC was having a few wierd problems with X-Wing. When set up as a P166 (which it is) the game wouldn't load, the only solution was to clock it down to a slow P150 then it ran perfectly. Nothing in the manual explains it, Wierd! Anyway, after several games of X-Wing experimenting with the network settings Dark Elf joined in and the fun was just begining. Unbelievably we played X-Wing Vs Tie Fighter solidly until 3am Saturday with Savoury emerging as a clear winner with Dark Elf second followed by Darkclaw and Kone battling for the bottom places. A change of game was then required and soon we were all duking it out in Duke Nukem 3d Atomic with Kone slaughtering everybody followed by Dark Elf and Savoury with Darkclaw getting wiped out. We then decided it was time to do something else so savoury set up his video and put on 'Hard Boiled'. At this point Kone decided to go to bed as he was playing football on Saturday, and Dark Elf went later. When asked later why he went to bed so early he replied "I don't need a reason".

At 9am the next morning Flash finally showed up. The reason he couldn't turn up on Friday was because he had to take his parents to the airport (although he didn't). It was then time to go back to X-Wing Vs Tie Fighter with Savoury (AKA Lee) and Dark Elf (AKA Dale) as Rebel scum and Flash (AKA Flash), Darkclaw (AKA Biggs) and Kone (AKA Poo-Chunx) as the glorius Imperials. The Imperials although getting more kills and less defeats lost because the Rebel scum got more points per kill. Savoury wiped everone out followed by Flash and Dark Elf. Kone and Darkclaw hardly got killed at all but unfortunatly didn't kill many people either. Somebody also thought the best way to kill somebody was to ram the full speed but they just got everybody annoyed.

At this point ( 12.30pm) we switch over to Quake using Q-Zone and went through all the Deathmatch levels with Savoury and Kone leading the pack although it was pretty close. At the end of the Quake session Kone went of to play football and score a couple of goals while everyone else played Command and Conquer : Red Alert. Apparently Dark Elf (the supreme Re Alert King) got wiped out by a couple of not so good people and quit the game so Flash won. Flash now holds the Red Alert crown and Dark Elf will have to win it back at the next party. After the Red Alert game Flash and Darkclaw went off home and Savoury shortly after. Overall quite a satisfying party considering the lack of people but this summer we plan to get 8-10 people! wow!
