Melchior the Black

Grand Sorcerer of the Black Legion

241 points, 361 points including wargear Melchior the Black was chosen as chief librarian of the Luna wolves before it was renamed the Sons of Horus. In the Ullanor crusades he had fought alongside Horus and Abbadon and his appointment was a reward for his remarkable battleprowess. During a campaign to fight down a chaos-cult uprising on a isolated forge- world, Melchior found a strange scroll in the death-grasp of a killed chaos magus. On his way back to Terra he tried to interpet the ancient runes written on it. Suddenly it all became clear to him: Infinite knowledge flowed through his body and strange and forbidden chants filled his head. But the knowledge had its price: He was overcomed with a furious hatred for the emperor of man and his underlings, they were weak and pathetic. Before he arrived at Terra the battle-barge was reached by the knews that Horus had declared war on humanity. A short and bloody battle eruppted between the marines who were still faithful and those who supported Horus. The imperialists were butchered and Melchior and his battle-barge arrived on Terra to support the siege on the imperial palace. When Horus was slain Melchior gathered some of the renegades and took course for the Eye of terror.

When Melchior reached the Eye of terror he began to interpret his newly found artifact. He also gathered the remaining sorcerers of the Black Legion to found a college of dark magic. As the rumour of this damned college began to spread, several sorcerers and mages was drawn to Melchior. His price as a tutor was expensive indeed: Bloody sacrifices and priceless relics was demanded, but Melchior was an excellent teacher and the sorcerers of chaos was becoming more powerful than ever. But some how, rumors of this unholy college and its twisted headmaster, reached the Empire and a powerful host of space marines from the Dark Angels chapter was launched to destroy it. The Dark Angels together with a mighty army of Cadian Shocktroops attacked Melchiors homebase in the outskirts of the great warpstorm. The following battle was incredibly hard, but in the end Melchior and his followers had to withdraw...
Once again, the sorcerus relics and artifacts that Melchior had collected, were scattered all over the universe. Everything that Melchior had the time to save was his powerfull scroll and a potent sword called the Sword of change. Melchior set out on a great hunt to reclaim all the lost artifacts, and it has not ended yet...

The Daemon-Scroll
The Daemon-Scroll is a ancient relic, a gift from the chaos-gods to their most loyal servents. The ancient runes written upon it have never been translated, the most able of sorcerers have tried and failed, some driven mad in their atempt. The bearer of the scroll will be blessed with powers beyond imagination, but it may also turn aginst its user and absorb his psychic power.

A chaos sorcerer who bears the scroll will recieve the following abilities:
1) He will gain +1 to his psychic mastery level and he may take one extra spell.
2) He will recieve a deamonic aura (unmod. 4+ save wich will be negated by a foce weapon or a spell as usual).
3) The sorcerer can choose freely from the 3 chaos spell-decks
4) Once per battle the sorcerer can exchange one of his force cards for the "Daemon attack" force card

After the battle, roll a d6: on a roll of 1 the sorcerer is sucked inte the realm of chaos and should be treated as casualty for the purpose of victory pts.
