Slaanesh Noise Marines

After browsing through White Dwarf 206, and carefully examining the new Noise Marines, I started thinking, and decided I could make some of those. I am on a quite tight (or non-existant) budget, and don't have enough to spend on flashy new models. I am however blessed with a copy of MB games Space Crusade, and its supplement Mission:Dreadnought. This leaves me with almost 30 almost identical Space Marines, and 4 boring Chaos Space Marines. The following is how I converted these boring marines into stunning (kinda!) Slaanesh Noise Marines.

Really all that was involved was changing the Bolt Guns into Sonic Blasters, and inventing a Doom Siren and a Blastmaster.

The Sonic Blasters are meant to look sort of like guitars, which luckily for me was quite easy to make. The Bolt guns carried by Space Crusade marines have rather large bayonets attached under the front. All I did was chop this off, and attach it to the front. By painting it so it looked like a guitar, the effect is quite good (not perfect, but it will be as soon as I can find some modelling putty to buy!)

The Doom Siren was simple, all I needed to do was smack a reasonable size cylinder on a marines helmet. It did however, take me ages to find a suitable cylinder. Finally, while I was sitting in a boring legal studies class at school, clicking on my pencil eraser. Its like a clutch pencil or pacer, but its got a big fat rubber instead of a lead. The minute I got home i rushed to my desk and hacked up my precious rubber (don't worry I've got two!). I attached it to the centre bottom of the marines helmet, but decided it needed something more. The new model had a sort of grate on it, and I decided mine needed one aswell. With scissors in hand, I attacked the innocent fly screen door in my bedroom.(I now have a 5cm square hole in my door!!!, and this time i don't have two!). This I cut to size, and stuck to the front of the rubber bit. My Doom siren model was complete.

The Blastmaster was easiest of all, but would be quite a bit more difficult to do without Mission:Dreadnought. There is a weapon in Mission:Dreadnought called a conversion beam, which is like a big fat sausage. I just cut away at the end until it looked like a pipe. The effect was complete when I painted it.

Painting Noise Marines is great fun. Unlike the 'Eavy Metal version, my models are painted in bright lary clashing colours. Every one I painted differently, as the background said that each Noise marine modified and "beautified" there own armour.
