Finally, a new Metal band from a country I have no Metal from!  CORRUPTED hail from the lucky and intoxicated land of Ireland.  How I stumbled upon them I don't recall but my initial sampling was sufficient enough to get me to pursue this self-financed release. The 5 lengthy tracks on Feed On The Weak fall into a sort of Aggro-Death/Thrash category but with less speed emphasis than one might expect with a labeling of that sort.  After several listens I am more or less unmoved but confess that somewhere on this disc I hear imbedded the embryonic rumblings of potential.  The track "In The Garden" is especially intriguing as it inspires me to believe that if the band concentrate on more intricate numbers like that, they'll reach a wider audience.  The underlying problem with this release is its absence of depth and a rather stale approach to a genre whose fans demand far more variety these days.  The components for success are nearly in place however.  If the band elect to not use their melodic riffs so sparingly for example, they might garner a bit more attention.  A tightening of the rhythm section couldn't hurt either.  Perhaps its just time and rehearsal that the band need at the moment.

I'll keep my radar affixed towards the North Atlantic since I think there might be some sort of future for CORRUPTED.  Surely Ireland and neighboring England could stand to evolve a more promising scene and CORRUPTED might be a band to look to.
