Dear Misunderstood One

How are you doing?
Wherever you are.
Any place is better than my mind right now.
Things are changing much too quickly with me.
My growing body doesn’t comprehend.
Teach me to act with out regretting it.
Teach me to tell the difference
Between my weakness and yours.
Help me hold back the silly tears
That weep only out of self pity.
Why do we only truly understand what respecting elders means,
When we become elders ourselves?

You put us here because you loved us,
But what kind of loving father builds a world
For his children to endlessly contradict themselves?
We learn what’s right
When it becomes wrong.
We learn the answers
When they become questions.
We learn the truth
Is really a lie.
