Old To New
Far off past the mountains,
Reaching to the sky,
Stands a tree just planted,
And one about to die.
The two are both connected,
They both resemble one,
But one has passed the course
The other’s just begun.
The new one has lain dormant
To watch the old one grow.
Through troubles and temptations,
It knows all it must know.
And now the new tree’s sure
Of all that it must do,
To live without the old one,
Till it becomes old too.
