The Wish

Standing at the window,
Making out a face in the stars.
Hoping that this vision
Can somehow erase these scars.
Looking how the light
Embraces my spirit with a sigh.
Wishing the image was real,
And to have no more good-byes.

But then I see the clouds
Rush over where I saw
The love that lifted me,
The loneliness that shrouds the memory,
Inside of me.

Staring at the paper,
Making out the words in my soul.
Touching the old feelings,
Waiting for the one to call.
Silently you whisper
A word into my mind so great.
A solitary promise,
Something to keep the hope,
“Just wait.”
