Darth Maul took an early lead in the fight, Simon had thought that Britney Spears was the opening act and was caught off guard as he was putting in his earplugs.

Simon was able to defend against Maul's incessant attacks and skillful swordplay, but to many Brits' dismay, Maul proved to be too much for the English singer.

As you can see, the damange was quite severe.

Also of note, Britney Spears fans all over the world were saddened to hear that she was caught in the crossfire and took a blazing red lightsaber to the boob. The fight was suspended for a few moments while plastic surgeons repaired the damage.
