Between new releases by Mike Welch, Mark Hummel, Rod Piazza and the Love Dogs, we've had a lot to do. Not to mention travelling to a few great blues festivals including the Poconos (great to see everyone there!), the Kansas City Blues Festival, etc and a busy touring season for our artists. Thanks for your patience and here is the latest update.

Susan Tedeschi
Susan just finished up the Buddy Guy and Jonny Lang tour which was a great time for her. Buddy began to call her up on stage to sing "Feels Like Rain," which the crowd always loved. Susan's debut, Just Won't Burn, is still taking off - hitting #49 on the Billboard Heatseekers Chart and #7 on the Blues Chart. She was just in Boulder this past weekend at the Gavin Convention playing a (very!) late night set with just an acoustic guitar for a packed room of AAA music directors and program directors from around the country. The BB King tour starts in the middle of September and will hit the South. She's tentatively touring the midwest and west coast in November and December.

The Love Dogs
Their new record, Heavy Petting, will be released on September 15th. Things are already taking off for them - they put on a wild show at the Waterfront Blues Festival and we're still getting feedback from the show! They will be on CBS' Saturday Morning show on September 12th - 3 days before the release of the record - and will perform 2 songs. The new single "Oh Babe!" is already breaking into AAA, with a very big add atKMTT out in Seattle. Oh babe!

Rod Piazza and the Mighty Flyers
We've just released a new record from Rod called Vintage Live - 1975. Recorded at an LA nightclub in 1975 by Pete Welding it features a young Piazza with Hollywood Fats, George Phelps, Richard Innes and Larry Taylor burning through what are now blues standards. Rod recently taped a segment for the Blues Foundation's Beale Street Caravan which is carrried on NPR stations around the country. We've also just received their new record which we'll put out in early '99 - probably February. Still thinking about a title for the new record...

Mike Welch
Mike has been touring actively behind his new record, Catch Me, and he'll be touring Europe for about 2 weeks starting September 3rd. He recently did a few shows (in Pittsburgh and Cleveland) with his good friend Shemekia Copeland, which went very well. What a double bill! Mike was just interviewed for Guitar World which will be out in October.

Paul Rishell and Annie Raines
Paul and Annie are still working on their next record which we will release in 1999. They were just interviewed for a segment in Blues Revue called "In the Studio." They travelled to NYC in July to perform the music for a play about Robert Johnson.

Toni Lynn Washington
Toni is beginning to plan out her next record already. We're talking about producers and material and it looks like they'll get into the studio this fall. It's been so long since the last update, but Toni Lynn put on a killer show at the Chicago Blues Festival. The Chicago Sun Times called her the MVP of the main stage and she performed right before headliner Tyrone Davis.

Mark Hummel
Mark's new record, Low Down to Uptown, has been getting great reviews and Mark's record release party at Biscuits and Blues with Junior Watson was a success. Mark is undertaking a major tour in the fall (check out his tour schedule!), so if he comes to your area be sure to get out and see him.

Johnny Hoy
Johnny just completed a successful tour through NY and CT including a stop at Manny's Car Wash. His interview with the House of Blues radio broadcast with Dan Ackroyd will air on the weekend of October 10th and 11th.

Terrance Simien
Terrance is about to wrap up his current tour and is looking forward to a little (very little!) rest. He finally has a date in his hometown as he's playing at the Grand Street Dance Hall in Lafayette, LA on September 18th and he's excited to play for his hometown fans. Terrance heads to the United Arab Emirates on October 24th for a two week stay. Terrance has just about wrapped up his next record which we'll release in early '99.

David Maxwell
David has been touring like crazy with both James Cotton and Charlie Musselwhite while still finding time to play a bunch of shows with his own band. He's beginning to plan out his next record and is talking to a bunch of special guests to help sit in. I'll keep you posted as more details come in.

Tony Z
Tony has been touring with Buddy Guy as part of the Buddy Guy/Jonny Lang tour. It was great to see Tony in Boston when they played at Harborlights. They have toured Europe and the US extensively playing to packed houses and enthusiastic crowds.

Kid Bangham and Pressure Cooker
Kid and his newly named band - featuring Amyl Justin - did a great show at the Lehigh Valley Blues Festival for Kid's hometown crowd this summer. They're heading to Australia in October for a few dates down under.
